That's a silly argument to try to make. His contract was absurd for a QB with no starting experience, but it certainly didn't eclipse any of those QBs. We don't know the details of his base salary yet, but if you're doing simple averages to derive it, his $5 million per pales in comparison to Roethlisberger's $13 million per that he got in the contract signed 2 years ago, the $11.5 million per that Warner got for his 2 year contract, and the $10 million per that Brees received in 2006 (his cap number last year was roughly $14 million, of which $9.8 million was considered base salary). I'm not sure where you're getting your numbers from, but if he sees all $10 million in 2 seasons, he's still $13 million short of what Warner made over the past 2 years.
