Bill Bellawaste looking like the coach I always knew he is. System my ass…what a joke; easy to look good when you have a great quarterback. He’s starting to look as clueless as Mandoofis on the sidelines…I couldn’t love it more. I was in a bar around a bunch of Pats fans when the GOAT went down and in typical, educated Boston sports fan style – they actually said “Good – now the world finally gets to see how overrated Brady is!” now that’s funny.
It all started with the trench - Pats OL/DL are not as good as they are advertised to be. Especially Pats OL. They are severely undersized, and they are more of a finesse team than physical team. Bull-charging straight through the middle almost always collapses the pocket. (Having Jamal Williams helped the bolts last night.) This is precisely why they cannot run the ball in any conventional manner - this fact led to Maroney having to run on a draw while in a spread set. And when Giants figured this out last year, that doomed Brady and Co. as well. (Brady got sacked 5 times to say the very least - he was under constant pressure all game.) Also, their D is in shambles, if you ask me; DL is about the best of the entire D, and that's not good. Their ILBs are slow and they tire fast. Their secondary (especially Deltha O'neal) are extremely weak. Their D looked better than they were, partially because Brady was there for them; their D never had to play without a lead. Rather, they always had a gigantic lead, and all they had to do was to wait for the mistake from the opposing O. With Brady gone, the world sees what they really are. It really kills me to say this, because I've said many times weeks ago; Jets should attack the Pats right at where they are weak. Coles could utilize his speed a bit there, burning a few DBs along the way. Keller could have given them headache all day. None of that happened. NONE. I hope Jets do it right the second time around.
That said at least your one of the pats fans who will still show thier face around here. You earn respect for that.
All of that said, I don't think this is the end of everything for the Pats success. I think after this year they are going to be looking good for another 2-3 years. There are some young players on the defense that are showing a lot of potential (albeit with inconsistency), that in another year could be solid to very good contributors. Tom Brady isn't around right now but he is coming back and Randy Moss still has a few years left in his prime.
