your dead wrong about this one. I'm an FSU fan so I see alot of ACC football and ive watched this kid numerous times. think of wayne chrebet with actual playmaking ability. he runs pretty good routes, is deceptively quick. and has the speed to back it up indicated by his 4.34 40 on campus. also very very strong and alot harder to get a clean hit on than youd think at his size. almost built like a RB. with him on the team mccareins is a thing of the past IMO.
I hope you're right. I hope he is the 7th round diamond in the rough every team wants to find. As long as he wears green and white I will support him. But the fact remains he is a 7th rounder, who statistically does not have a great chance of making the team. I hope he makes the team, but until he does I am not going to be doing backflips over an injury prone 7th rounder and call him the second coming of Wayne Chrebet as others have been doing.
oh no i dont blame you at all, from a realistic standpoint if he was that good he wouldnt have fallen correct? i believe alot of it had to do with his size, combined with the nagging foot injury. nowadays if ur a small reciever you have to have production to get drafted. and in this draft I watched alot of nobodies with half Stuckey's production get drafted cuz theyre over 6 ft 1. trust me, the only thing that could make him a bust is if his foot becomes a serious problem. otherwise weve got a solid role player for years to come.
I certainly hope you're right. And if he turns out to be good, I will jump on the Stuckey bandwagon too. I was just trying to keep things in perspective, it seemed like a few in this thread were getting a little carried away.
With our FO limited history it is difficult to read this pick. The simplest interpretation is that our FO drafts BPA and saw this pick as a no-brainer. An attempt to read into it would lead me to believe that they see PR as enough of a need to justify the pick. The thing that I am really curious about is where the FO sees his upside as far as a WR. Do they see him eventually filling the role of 3rd down slot receiver? If so where does that leave Brad Smith? Do they question his ability to be our slot guy? Does that mean that they see Smith's potential as higher? At this point only time will tell. Considering that most coaches are on a 3 year plan it adds some weight to the fact that one of these guys(Smith/Stuckey) will be our 3rd WR two years from now at the latest. WR is a position that rarely sees a rookie step in and contribute immediately. Based on that - unless we sign a WR in FA next offseason that means that our 3rd WR is already on our roster. Hopefully they also see one of these guys as having #2 potential as Coles is not getting any younger and if he has any kind of significant injury we would be in trouble otherwise.
Keep an eye on this guy brutha PA, the Jets might have stolen one here http://www.onusports.com/Football/Releases/jets.html http://www.nfl.com/draft/profiles/2007/trusnik_jason If not for losing nearly all of his Junior season to a broken foot, he was on pace to mount a serious challenge to become the NCAA's All-Time Sacks leader Could be a nice 34OLB situational pass rusher
