From NFL.com's Pro Day listing Chansi Stuckey WR Stuckey (191 pounds) ran the 40 in 4.53 and 4.49 seconds. He stood on the rest of his Combine numbers. From NFL.com's Combine Results: 20 yard shuttle: 4.14 3-cone drill: 6.91 (20th out of 20) NO 40 TIME IN THE NFL COMBINE RESULTS I don't know where you're getting your numbers, but certainly aren't from the league's website.
Oh yeah the kid from Brown who later went on to be a training camp fodder in Tampa. This guy couldn't catch for shit though... I think Stucky will be allright but to be honest personally I would have liked to gamble by taking Jeff Smardzja in the 7th round but the way we gave up picks in this draft gambling on a guy that has his heart set on baseball would have been a tough sell.
I don't know. I think they are saying he ran a 4.34 before he got hurt.... maybe last year??? Or he was still hurt and ran a 4.49.
We did not have that luxury with only 4 picks. The chances of him going to the NFL this year is just above 0%. The chances of Stuckey becoming a star is higher than that, so give me Stuckey any day.
He's a hometown kid from the "War" as we call it, and I love the pick. It's cool because our town pop is around 70,000 and I loved watching him in high school. At Northside HS under Coach Conrad Nix, Stuckey was the play caller and they ran the triple option and he broke the school records for rushing yards by a QB. At one time under his tenure they were ranked #1 in the Nation. He could play anything from receiver to defensive back, and even come in and take snaps if needed. Lets hope he can be our Marcus Colston. just a questions to all you New Yorker's.....??? Is high school football as big in NY as it is in the south? Our city rivalry game which is held annualy draws 30,000 plus and has been filmed by ESPN 3 (camera crew in charge of filming local high school talent-games. I have had a lot of friends from Long Island and New Jersey tell me that High school and college football are not so huge in the northern states. When they come down here and see the crowds on Fri and Sat night games they can't beleive it. Houston County GA alone has 4 Highschools. Northside and Warner Robins High are both in 5A which is the highest region. Houston County High is in 4A and Perry High school is in 3A. Some of the local NFL talent from my area includes.... Dolphin TE Randy McMichael......Peach County Highschool (10 minutes from Warner R). I have met him and I hate to admit it, but he is a heck of a nice guy. When I shook is hand, I thought about taking a cheap shot with my tazer and trying to injure him (J/K) Buffalo Bill Corner back Kiwakee Thomas.....Perry Highschool. He and my wife work together and are both labor and delivery nurses at the Hospital in Warner Robins. He is also a nice guy and always ribs me when I sport my Curtis Martin jersey up to the hospital. I told him that he should get with the right AFC team and maybe I'll become a fan. Line Backer at Minnesota Vikings Donterrius Thomas....Perry High School...Never met him Defensive back Tyron Poole....NE...Fort Valley State University in Peach County...never met WR/KR Willie Reid....Warner Robins Highschool....Pittsburgh Steelers Willie graduated with my brother's at WR High in 1999 and he was a special runing back in highschool. He was unstoppable at times and I swear I remember a game where they handed him the ball atleast 30 times in a row. He was a third rounder last year and then got hurt.
I think he might be around 4.6 speed because in the film i saw he couldnt even burn the Linebackers. now most linebackers range from 4.4-4.8 so i dont think he is all that fast..
High school football in NY and NJ is nowhere near the level it is in western PA or the southern states.
I don't know what video you were watching. And, FYI, most collegiate linebackers run in the 4.6-5.0 range. IMO, Stuckey has higher upside than most of the guys taken before him in the mid rounds, and I'm willing to bet he contributes to this team. I recommend you watch the video of him pooping all over Florida State on Youtube. I think he had something like 11 catches. He has wheels, and he's willing to work. Brad Smith is going to have to step it up this year or Stuckey could be eating into his playing time. -X-
A bad combine time, below average size, an injury history, and not much experience are hopefully the reasons he fell. But he does seem to have a pretty high upside as a playmaker, given his college production when he was on the field. I really like this pick, and I normally don't like hyping up 7th rounders much.
gamecock fan here too....but yea, this guy is an athlete...i dont know about brad smith version 2.0 like i've seen others say, he's small, but has great speed...should be useful
im not saying that he is a bad player at all im just saying what i saw from the films off the link off the first page... and if the backers were 4.4 im talking bout southern schools and like miami and florida state etc but he was playing far less better schools so you know the linebackers werent that fast and he was getting caught from behind
There's a thing called pursuit angle. A guy who runs a 5.0 could track down a WR who runs a 4.5 if they take the right route. I've said it before, for a 7th rounder he has a ton of upside and you can't ask for much more out of that late a draft pick.
dont get me wrong he is a great addition but im just going off the whole main topic of his speed is he 4.3 or is he 4.6 i was sayin that he might be alot slower just due to the films nothing more he probably and excellent catch for us..
Stuckey's going to find himself a nice little niche here with the Jets. He's got great speed, I see you guys arguing over what exactly he'd run when healthy, well all I know is that he can really turn on the burners on the field. I think he'll be a valuable weapon as a big play threat, the kind of guy that can come out of the slot and force the defense to stretch out, giving our multitude of possession guys great lanes.
