It really doesn't make sense to play Chad. Its obvious that there will be some QB arm issues with him all this year...and clearly the lack of preseason TD's gives one doubts...but we are going to go through the endless process(for us I mean)of adjusting to a new coach and a start-all-over regimes system here...and everytime they look at our QB backups and prepare for the worst(they have to be gunshy after last year)...I applaud them....and here's to no injuries this week!

Bollinger is exactly one inch shorter than Clemens and Ramsey. But I agree that Bollinger DESERVES a roster spot based on his performance and Ramsey does not.

Actually, Ramsey is really 6'-2" while Clemens is the fictional 6'-2". In fact there was an article posted on here somewhere that Kellen actually was quoted as saying that he is just barely over 6'. Seeing them all together in TC pictures, Kellen and Brooks are about the same size....

Hey, New coaches, new ideas, new system, new plays, new players, why play any first stringers in the last preseason game? Let the guys that are still fighting for a job knock their ass off to make the roster. Penny and the starters should play rep after rep to get their timing down "only in practise". I personally do not want to see any starter hurt in the last preason game nonsense. I waited a whole year as did all of us Jet fans for the real games to begin. I believe in Chad, so why play him at all? He is not a rookie, he has a tremendous amount of expierience. He is gonna have the Jitters in the first game and then play very well. J-e-t-s Jets, Jets, Jets. Let the games begin. Allentown Ernie.

In person, it looked to me that Kellen was a tad taller than Bollinger. Not by much, but he's slightly taller.

He seems to play a couple of inches taller though, if there is such a thing. Taking the snap from the center, his height doesn't bother me as much as Bollie's height does, for some reason. Bolly looks small, running around back there, where Clemens doesn't. I know... kinda weird, but that's the way they looked to me at TC.

I hear you, plus Clemens has a much stronger looking build than Bolly. I really don't worry about either of their heights though, I was just making a point....

You really think Chad got in anough Preseason action? Two games?! And really only a few quarters.

I have to agree with you on this also, Dinobot (this must be my "I agree with everyone" thread today). LOL.

But Chad still needs the work, IMO. I can't imagine why we WOULDN'T play him for at least Q1. There is no way he should be going into the opener without some more throws against "real" opponents. He's been tossed around like a rag doll a few times, I know, but that's all the more reason for him to be taking live snaps under center, so he gets to gell with the O-line more and they get a feel for where he is and under what conditions.

I don't want another opener like we had at Arrowhead last year.

You think it's worth him possibly getting injured in a meaningless game?

    No shocker here.

Let's just hope that the OL holds up, and can keep him from getting killed. Again.

I hope Ramsey is cut and we hold onto Brooksie. Ramsey was a waste of a 7th rounder. or 6th. Or whatever.

I think Chad is sitting out for the same reason TO is sitting. They are pros with enough gametime experience.

It's more of a safety measure. Like another poster said, not worth injury in a meaningless game. If he hasn't had enough practice by now, he's not gonna improve much more by playing another quarter of a preseason game.

Wouldn't you say this is a meaningless season Mr. Darksider?

If he does, tuff shit. Play the game of football. No matter what we aren't going out there to just run around. Every team competes for the SB. This is a poor decision by Mangini.

Well then I hate to think how killed he's gonna get in the regular season. Is this the kind of thinking we're deciding on? Sooner or later?

Well, we did see a lot of Chad in the Giants game. More so than I had expected, in fact. He did put in some time in that game, for what it was worth. I just don't know if he's had time to gell with the present O-line and they've had time to gell with him. TC was like "Helter Skelter." Throw QB's in here, throw them in there. Now they're in, today they're out. There were practices where you'd swear one of the QB's was in the doghouse. It wasn't the case, of course, but Bolly or Ramsey wouldn't take a snap all day, for example.

But the preseason games are meant to match 1st teams against 1st teams for at least the 1st quarter. Well... maybe you guys are right, I don't know.

All I know is, my cardiologist says I shouldn't watch another game like Arrowhead, 2005.

I have no problem with Chad not playing. 4th preseason game if the starters play, it's for one series at most. Chad missed one game but he played more than the starter usually does in the 1st and 3rd games.
