No true Jet fan, Chad supporter or whatever was celebrating the loss. Every Jet fan should have been excited at the end of that game and to see we have a future QB in KC. This crap between the Chad supporters and haters needs to stop, no fan should get shit just becuase they like a player. People have various reasons why they love and support CP but they know in the back of their minds that KC is the future, people just want to see CP treated right before his time with the Jets ends. You don't dump someone who took a POS team to 10-6, a playoff berth, and the NFL Comeback player of the year. But people quickly forget the good and always focus on the negative, sad but typical of sports I guess.
The QB rating was just one of the stats listed. Completion percent, yards per attempt, TD/INT ratio all favor Chad. Your preoccupation with Chad's arm strength as compared to Clemens is keeping you from noticing the numerous things Chad brings to the position that Kellen does not. Who is to say that the softer pass that Chad throws would not have been caught by JMac or that the more accurate throw to Coles would not have produced a TD instead of the ball on the ground. Arm strength impresses people and living in Huntington I got to watch two extremes. Chad with average arm strength but intelligence, touch, and accuracy compared to Byron Leftwich who can throw the ball 70+ yards (won the NFL long throw competition). Both were great college QBs and first round draft picks. I'll take Chad any day and I love Byron. I think Clemens will be a good NFL QB - as a JETS fan I'm counting on it. But one good quarter and a strong arm is not enough to bench a guy who has been a winner as a JETS QB on some pretty below average talent teams and was playing extremely well against a good PATS defense this season. Chad can take the JETS all the way with the right supporting cast - I'm hoping when his time is past Kellen can do the same.
I am not sure it is debatable that Chad could have gotten us a win yesterday. If he has some lingering pain in that ankle and they felt it better to start KC, then so be it. Clemens gets some much needed experience and Chad has an extra week to heal. I hardly see where anyone is celebrating the rookie losing his first game. No one wants to lose. Well except maybe jonnyd. Now the thread starter in this case. Here's a guy that likes to create hoopla just support his own biased ass-backwards thinking. Here's to another winner.
