Faneca and Favre (pre injury) were damn good players for us.

We may not have gotten their best but what we got was far better than what we have had since.

Absolutely. Maybe I didn't use the right words, I don't know. I loved Faneca, and with him that left side especially was a major force in the running game but that was also because he had two studs next to him. There was no weak link, those 3 created a wall on that left side. That's what I'm hoping Carpenter does for us this year. And the style he played with, nasty attitude, the physical presence, it was a joy to watch us run the ball in the 4th quarter because everybody was just pushed around and they couldn't do anything about it.

Seriously right?? Really one of the best jets to ever play. We haven't had to think about LT for 10 years.

He's also taken two restructures to stay with the club, too. If we adjust for position, D'Brick is probably up there with Leahy (17 years) in terms time with the Jets.

I thought the Faneca signing was great. But in fairness he did seem to tail off some as time went on.

He did, I think some people tend to forget those things. He was great that first year, the 2nd year he struggled in pass protection and rightly so we cut him. He was pretty much done at that point which isn't taking a shot at him. The guy played one of the toughest positions at the highest level in a mauling fashion for 10-15 years. He'd fall apart eventually. Didn't see him in that final year with the Cardinals but from what I remember (reports) he looked terrible and then decided to retire.

I think it was the first game against the Patriots in the 2011 season @Foxborough, but I'm not sure...
