if not for that one play in the first game, the jets would have a 'perfect' record, and jim rome would be begging us not to blow it by beating the cards on sunday.
Why? We controlled that game for 3 1/2 qtrs, we dind't put them away but the better team won that day especially w/ all the adversity we faced after Nugent got hurt which led to all the great FP Miami had all game.
To say that if that pass wasn't a TD the Jets would have lost shows zero understanding of how football games work. Zero. If you really believe that shit, then you're either completely biased or you just don't understand the game very well.
Haha the Dolphins lol..........The Dolphins. Lol last time I checked we beat the Dolphins every time we play them.
I see people scoffing but the press likes to get into the minds of fans and play the 'what if' game just like we do, there have been a few 'what if' threads this week alone on this board. Hey, I have one: "What if Tom Brady isn't injured in week one?" They'd probably be undefeated right now and we'd be looking up at them until they got knocked out of the playoffs. I hate this type of thing because the final outcome of a game is the final outcome of a game. The Pats won a slew of very close games in 2001 and went on to win the Super Bowl. The Giants looked like crap early on last season and went all the way. Teams that played the Pats in '01 and the Pats fans last year played the hell out of the 'what if' game to no avail. Because the final score remains the same.
and right now after the Dolphins beat the Pats, they look better then us. We should be taking advantage of this division this year since Brady went down, but not us...
Why should this be of the slightest importance to you as a NYJ fan when we have so many other far more severe problems like poor coaching, poor OLine play, no running game, slow WRs, poor quality DEs, so far poor LBer play, A secondary easily riddled, shank them Ben as our punter?
I'm gonna ingore the primary topic for a moment, and instead just focus on this quote from the Dolphins WR, about his 1-2 team, and ask some Jets "fans" who have been posting all the crazy harebrained things this week that we should already give up on 2008, bench Favre and start Raitliff, etc, to imagine this could be a player on our 1-2 team talking: Fans who declare their team is so bad that it's pointless to even care about winning this year anymore, that we should already go into "thinking about next year" mode are ... not fans worth having. It would be better for the Dolphins or the Jets if they just go route for the Patriots or Cowboys or whatever is the "America's Team du jour." Like Camarillo says, the teams are truly better off if these kinds of fans just ... go away, and don't come back.
Ok, so, I hope the Jets prove all of us wrong this weekend and go do what they need to do and beat the shit out of Arizona going into the bye, especially at home..Then maybe this team will get some credibility.
If the Lphins played the Pats again on Sunday do you know who would win? If the Giants played the Bengals again on Sunday do you know who would win?
Can you imagine what this board will be like if the Dolphags beat the Chargers? I think I hear rumbling...
This "BS" is very believable. If not for Revis sticking to his man like glue we could have easily lost to the Phins. The only thing that is BS in this thread is that people don't believe that we could have lost that game. We have talent. We are lacking execution and playing at this point.
Saying we could have lost and saying we would have if it weren't for the Stuckey TD are two very different things. Obviously we could have lost, and obviously the game would have played out very differently had we not got that TD.
Oh I agree about that. The Stucky TD was part good luck, part skill, and part injury to a kicker. The fact I'm looking at is the Phins are no longer an automatic win this year. There are several "winnable" games on our schedule, but unless things change we are going to lose a few of them. We have the talent to succeed, but its not translating to the field right now. This needs to change and change fast.
