It's supposed to look that way because that's the way the media is playing small-minded people. The reality is that it's the NY media continuously asking Rex questions about it because THEY are the ones obsessed with the Jets-Pats rivalry and they use it to feed to the fans. Rex isn't the type to blow off questions, he's frank and to the point, he actually has a personality and it shows, unlike some coaches. By the way, it's funny that you say you hope the Jets back it up on the field, because that's probably the furthest thing from the truth. What you hope is that the Jets come out flat and inferior like they did under Herman Edwards. Hope in one hand and shit in the other, buddy. It ain't happening.
Why should they shut up? Rex has them full of confidence now and you can bet your ASS they will take that to the field on Sunday. I dont believe in that "quiet confidence" bullshit. You are either confident or you are not, pussies need to step aside and let the men speak for themselves.
For a team that has been Manginized for all this year I think the players need to re-gain some confidence. Ryan is giving them just that...
I agree the Pats trashed talked the Giants all week before the SB and than had the biggest choke in NFL history to deal with after the fact. Glad to see someone talking from experience giving some good advice.

Let them talk all they want. They never tried this approach, but hey, why the hell not? I wasn't really expecting too much this season unlike in the past, but last week's game really makes me think this team is for real. If it works don't bash it, can't wait to see the Jets finally win their home opener on Sunday.
