This is the best possible thing for Zach. Trial by fire. There isn’t a single team who will say “Zach is a rookie let’s take it easy on him” they are going to exploit that to the fullest. Zach has a short window to get ready he needs to feel the pressure.
Every snap he takes against a dominant nfl defense will benefit him and the organization. I honestly could not have picked a qb that did not play against elite teams with pro level players. There is a reason The Professor is not in the nba. Trick shots and fancy dribbling doesn’t necessarily translate into pro sports. Zach and his trick passes did not wow me. I’m hoping for the best.Douglas should have brought back Fitzpatrick and gave the young man time to develop.
It's pretty clear that what needs to be done. Saleh needs to run a full practice with every defenders' hands tied behind their backs. You every try running with your hands behind your back? Well maybe some of you have. But this should free up some receivers for Wilson and get him back in the groove. If that doesn't work, they could just use cardboard cutouts for the defense. Let's get Wilson his mojo back!
If Robert Saleh was smart, which he clearly isn't, or at least isn't as smart as Joe Judge, but I digress... if Saleh were smart, he'd coach his defense to have 4 separate intensity levels. Now hear me out: Intensity Level: Rookie Intensity Level: Pro Intensity Level: All-Pro Intensity Level: All Gas No Brakes Now Saleh could have like flash cards with on the sidelines and then blow his whistle once for Rookie, twice for Pro, and so on. Now this way, Zach Wilson can stage up his progress just like he was a fuckin 10 year old kid playing Madden. It's simple common sense, fellas. And then Saleh could make them all run suicides like they made us do in junior high when we got caught smoking ganja in the equipment room. .
