Marlin jackson ran a 4.6....justing miller ran a high 44 as well, and steve smith. 40 times don't mean shit usually. And reggie wayne does not have 4.4 speed. I actually think cotchery could be faster.

Anyone who has seen Cotch play knows that the Jets haven't even tapped his potential. As we all know, Herm the Germ loved to play his vets, oft injured, at the expense of promising young talent.

Cotchery, in limited action last year, showed us that he has very good hands (outside of PR/KR), speed when it counts and a tenacity where it took multiple defenders to take him down.

People say he could be our next Chrebet. I think that he'll emerge to be a more deadly gameday weapon than Chrebet because he has some of the Chrebet intangibles PLUS speed.

I really hope that this CS gives this kid a chance. I had hoped the same thing last year but Dinger put the kibash on that, no doubt with Herm's influence. I wouldn't be surprised if at some point this guy actually passes JMAC on the depth chart- call me crazy but we'll see.

How has he been a disappointment? He caught everything thrown to him. The disappointment was sackless Herm not sitting JMac so JCotch could shine.

As her would say " the guys a football player, so we are going to put him out there so he can play. He's been in on kick coverage, kick returns, and on O he has shown that he can really play some football".

but really he may not be the fastest WR on our team but he has great hands, great acceleration and quickness in small areas and in and out of his cuts. He should be very solid for us.

I don't get it- what has he done/not done which would cause any of you to doubt him? The CS NEVER played the guy! When he did see action, he performed...

Yeah, for a guy who is thought to have no speed he was our best PR and KR last year. He never droped the ball and took one to the house for 94 yards

First he needs a Peyton Manning to throw to him, and a Marvin Harrison and Edgerrin James to take attention off of him.

he's not that slow. He seems more like a possession reciever to me. Pretty big guy. Could be a wayne chrebet kind of player. But we'll never know if we dont play him!

What makes you think the guy is so slow? IMO he has average speed for a NFL WR but has excellent hands and is a great route runner. I will take that anyday over a guy who is a one dimensional track guy (HWJ).

he isnt a burner. but solid enough speed. but to be possession WR ( succesful atleast) you need great explosivness off the line of scrimmage. great quickness to get seperation on ur routes and damn near perfect route running unless your like 6'3 and can out jump most dbs.

cotchery hasnt shown the explosivness nor the great route running to warrent #2 wr consideration as of now. but hey he may bust his butt this offseason come in ready to shine in camp.

i dont know, i watched him throughout college and i think hes more suitable as an outside receiver, he runs cleans routes an has good hands. reggie wayne stretched defenses across the field with great speed and sure hands.

    thats if your talking style

but i know what you mean, i thnk he could if someone threw to him as often as Peyton does Reggie

Exactly. That's WHY he was a disappointment. Not his fault. Not holding it against him. It was something I was looking forward to last season and it never came to fruition. Word it how you will, but I wanted to see Cotchery break out. I think this year it will happen.

Reggie wayne does not have GREAT SPEED! Take it from someone who watched the guy and saw his workouts. I actually think this is a fair comparison.
