I don't recall saying anything really bad about Pryor other than that he was not playing up to his draft status, and was probably out of position the way Ryan used him. To be fair he is playing much better early this season.
Yeah, the Jets had Gronk and Edelman and Amendola somewhat contained with Pryor at SS. When he went out the rest of the drive stalled for the Pats but they came back like gangbusters after that and Brady got the machine rolling and we were in trouble.
I think he hurt his leg when that behemoth TE fell on him at the sideline. On the sweep I think he just got the wind knocked out of him.
I really never was a "told ya so" type guy but .... told ya so ^_^ The kid is a stud i dont know how people with any real football sense could judge him off of last year. Kid was playing out of position like hell. He's a box/run support strong safety. Last year he was playing deep cover FS. Pryor has stepped his man coverage up by a long shot too. All the little "Ha-ha" punch lines you guys had... jokes on you. Same ones crying on that 3rd and 17 play yesterday lol.
He has played phenomal this season. Night and day from his rookie year. He covered Gronk as well as someone can guard that fucking monster. Very pleased with his play and going to need him out there every week.
still not grasping hypothetical concept i see.... i actually think Pryor is a good player, and he's growing well as a pro. the injury sucks, especially with Jarrett banged up. running out of options. i wouldn't mind bringing up Miles for next week if Pryor can't go..
apparently he sent out a very interesting tweet yesterday that was deleted http://nypost.com/2016/02/07/jets-safety-mocks-own-team-while-slobbering-over-broncos/
He's not wrong. Aside from Mo nobody else got to the QB, and there were some games where Mo was completely shut out. No pressure at all.
This isn't that serious. Anyone in the league could make that post and itd be valid. Denvers pass rush is insane. I'm more concerned with how our run stuffing up from will decline with the possibility of snacks and Mo maybe not coming back, Harris getting another year older and the garbage talk about Kaepernick than Pryor comments.
I think what he was saying was that if we had LB's that could pass rush like Von Miller and DeMarcus Ware we'd have been Super Bowl bound. I think he was right. We're still in the Rex model of bully everybody up front and use smoke and mirrors to generate a pass rush via blitzing DB's. It's a 3-4/46 model in which we often only have a couple of big guys on the field on passing downs and rely on 6 DB's and 3 LB's, including Calvin Pace as a LB despite him often lining up at end in these situations, to generate a pass rush and get to the QB. We've known for years now that the Jets OLB's were not capable of generating the pass rush a 3-4 needs and so instead we've used DB's and exotic schemes to try to generate that pass rush. Hopefully Mauldin IV is the real thing and we can add somebody else to give the Jets the pass rush a 3-4 needs. We kill the run already, we just need to get those outside guys who can go get the QB as well as they set the edge against the run. With Rex it was all set the edge and pray.
Our second best pass rusher this year was Sheldon and he only played 11 games. After that it was...David Harris. When Harris is in your top 3 pass rushers, you know your pass rush sucks. Denver was able to get a lot of pressure on Newton with just four guys rushing. If we had someone else with Wilkerson numbers, I'd be more satisfied but there's a severe drop off after him.
