Yeah. They're called "Jets fans".
Oh yeah.. don't forget - who was the Jets QB for all those beatings again...?

Oh right...

Right. Because Baltimore didn't win the super bowl with TrINT Dilfer. And Ben Roethlisburger didn't get his first super bowl ring in spite of throwing two picks. So yeah. Chad Pennington clearly could never win a super bowl. When will you retards finally figure out that it's NOT just about the quarter back???

Jets fans don't run and hide when their season goes bad. Funny how we haven't heard from the Phins fans for all these years. Now we can't get rid of them.

To answer your question, we have had multiple QBs during our dominating decade over the Phins. It's cute that you still believe in Pennington though, kinda silly though considering the same old Pennington made his debut for the Phins last year.

Well, yeah. That is true. However, CP still was the QB for most of them.
But look - most of us really don't think CP is going to be our big savior or anything. But for as much as we couldn't wrap our heads around how he always seemed to find a way to beat us when he was with the Jets (with his noodle arm and everything..,) once he got down here, I guess that's when we finally realized what a consummate professional he is.
So, for that, and for being a key part of our huge turnaround last season, we are obviously really really greatful for having him.
And I'm sure, if you stop to think about it, you would have to agree that he'll be probably one of the best mentors we could possibly find for our future quarterbacks.

Wrong on just about every level.

When those QBs faced aggressive Ds in the Post-season, they either made bigtime plays that willed their team to a Championship (Ben) or protected the ball, which prevented the team from losing (Dilfer). Can you cite - including last year - when Chad has been capable of either of those?

Secondly, you're talking about one of the best Defenses ever in the Ravens, and a very very solid, well-balanced Steelers team that had [has had] an elite D in the NFL for a while. Mentioning the current Dolphins team in the same context as either of those teams is laughable.

So, essentially, what you're saying is, you're completely, blindly biased.

If anyone would be a great mentor, it'd be Chad--

But don't don't hold your breath. It's not like Kellen Clemens is wowing anyone...

This blows big time. Pace was a great addition last year and it sucks not having him the first 4 weeks.

Right, no Jets fan has ever heard or made the Trent Dilfer argument in relation of Chad Pennington. Sometimes that's the only thing that kept some of us from giving up on him completely. But then, Dilfer had an arm, and the Dolphins D only resembles the 2000 Ravens D in their dreams. Are you the next idiot in line for a beating?

those of you mentioning you dont remember Pace being good in coverage. Watch the games again. Pace was primarily a pass rusher.

But, if you notice he dominates the flats covering screens, and RB's on short passing. Especially for someone his size I dont know how many times I saw a RB catch a pass in the flat and saw Pace chase people down.

point in case, hes the best LB'er on our team not named Bart Scott. unless Gholston does a 180 in games 1-4.

I'm counting on Harris to return to rookie year form(in that case wed be sitting with a top 3 ILB core) and hopefully we dominate in the middle so much Rex can coverup the absence of Pace DECENTLY. i stress decently.

lol

Haven't you heard. Apparently from what I was reading last night Pace is the 6th best player on the Jet's D. They will not need him.

he may not be the best player on our defense, but he isnt replaceable because we have no depth what so ever. Also I put him as our 3/4 best player, behind Jenkins and Revis, and potentially behind Rhodes. Since his depth consists of a bust, and some PS guys, with you know the guy we drafted instead of Ed Reed on the opposite side, he is going to be sorely missed. there is a big difference however, between sorely missed and being the best defensive player....

What are you talking about? Where did I say that I think the current Dolphins team would be capable of winning the superbowl?
Besides, where in Super Bowl XL did Roethlisberger make a big play? He did score a touchdown on a 1 yard QB sneak, so I might reluctantly grant you that. But TD 2 was on a record-breaking 75 yard run by Willy Parker and the third TD was on a 43 yard pass from ANTWAAN RANDLE EL to Hines Ward.
The Steelers did not win that superbowl thanks to Ben Roethlisberger.
And if Chad had been the quarterback on that 1999 Ravens team, don't you think they could have still won? I know I was talking about one of the best defenses ever, but that only further proves my point, that it's NOT ALL ABOUT THE QB.
Chad didn't draft Kellen Clemens, now did he? Just because someone is a good mentor doesn't mean he can turn anybody into a superstar quarterback...

really who cares where he ranks as far as whole defense? he is our starting outside linebacker. he is the BEST GUY AT THAT POSITION and that is all that matters.

about 45 seconds in to setup the qb sneak giving them the lead before the half.

He had a bad overall game but did make that big play before the half to change the momentum.

They probably would have won, but you're talking about an all time great defense.

No I'm sure that Dilfer comparison has been made many times on this and other Jets boards. But while Dilfer might have had an arm, it was an arm that was infamous for throwing picks all day. Why do you think he was cut after winning a super bowl..?
Also, I never compared the Dolphins D to the 2000 Ravens D.

I am sure I'm the next "idiot" in line for a beating. After all, that's how you
treat all Dolphins fans on this board, regardless of how valid our points are (or are not)

And I did reluctantly grant you that one sneak. I said "reluctantly" because I'd argue that a play like that has more to do with the O-line giving him the needed room.

We sure are, and I never stated differently.

Thank you for your reply.

Incorrect, I treat Dolphin fans on this board who address this entire forum as retards in one of their first posts like they are the next idiot in line, because they are. Try reading some of JHTJ's posts and see why people treat him with respect as opposed to how you are about to be treated.

Your points are not valid and they aren't even refreshing, they are the same crap we have read before and known not to be true. Stop pretending are making a valid argument. You're saying 'if a team can win with Trent Dilfer, then we can win with Chad'. You can't, and it's pretentious nonsense.
