Miami has signed another LB by the name of Charlie Anderson according to someone over at JI...could this mean we have locked up Calvin Pace too?
Some teams play more than one linebacker on the field at once. Miami is rumored to be switching to this kind of "multi linebacker system" under new VP Bill "Tuna" Parcells.
Hes not- Tannenbaum is gonna sell him on playing here. If you were Pace (and money is the same), why would you sign with Miami over here? Theyre a few years away and Parcells is over the hill. In addition, its a big sell to Pace that the Jets have already landed Faneca and Jenkins. The Jets could really push the idea that Pace is the missing piece to an elite defense heading into 08. I like our chances.
Wow Pace gets a helicopter ride and Chrebet and Martin get Plane tickets. Woody must have airline connections
Cardinals free-agent linebacker Calvin Pace has finished his visit with the Dolphins and will now visit the New York Jets. Pace tied for the club lead with 98 tackles and recorded 6.5 sacks. With those numbers, he figures to be in high demand. -- Adam Schefter
Espn Jets espn is about to do a segment on calvin pace, where he might go and how it will create a domino effect in the nfl, they said the dolphins and the jets are the 2 teams behind everything...stay tuned
says it will finish a great weekend for the jets if we get him, he says jason taylor will probably get traded if the phins get him, nothing really special
yea that segment sucked, sorry to hype it, i think its 50 50 right now to be honest, this would be a good pickup and open the door for us to perhaps take run dmc instead of gholston
Obviously Parcells is going to a 3-4 defense. Too bad he took that job without him there we probably would have gotten Pace a lot cheaper. I have a feeling he's going to choose the Jets. He has the size for an OLB in a 3-4. Hopefully he works out.
If we signed Pace and drafted Gholston, who would be our starting 4 linebackers and where would they each play?
