Ah, Aldon Smith's 1-year ban began in November so he can't even apply for reinstatement until November of this year so it'd be pretty useless
getting an impact pass rusher should be one of the top priorities for this defense. It's the missing piece. Be it draft or otherwise, it's gotta happen. Mauldin one year more experienced, plus if we can nab an impact guy in the draft we're in good shape.
Totally. I think that all the time. And we tried to replace him with Vern and seem to have been scared off on trying again since. If the Jets drafted a pass rushing OLB 1st round this year I wouldn't be mad in the least. Thought Coples would have been promising but then they made a mistake by putting his hand in the dirt and bulking him up.
Re: Coples - they made the mistake in thinking he was that coveted pass rushing OLB in the first place
Maybe. The outcome is the only thing clear, but I can't help but wonder what would have happened if he entered the NFL at his natural position and the game weight that got him drafted.
everytime i see the thread title for this i think jeez this guy wants to build a d... he should just get himself a dildo.
We have the 4th best defense.. very young d-line.. LB group needs a revamp.. safeties are young and solid.. Corners are old and slow but we have talented young fast depth behind them... + Mauldin... i'd like to exclude him from the rest of the revamp-needy LB group.. he's a bright spot and i think he will quiet many of the ppl who are dying for an edge rusher. With this being said i'd rather focus on our actual needs and areas where we need to be younger/faster. 0-line,LB, & HB....... CB will adress itsself... (via Marcus Williams) IMO
Sure is. And now that Von is a lock to return to Denver , he's going to be the top FA LB. Supposedly he said he would give the Hawks a hometown discount. He's also been linked to Atlanta cause of Quinn. He would give our D an elite look though.
Well seeing as how they can use the tag on him and he was the MVP in a Superbowl victory , Id say that makes it pretty likely. Disagree?
It was a lock regardless of what happened last night..... He was never going to be a free agent this year...... Unless Denver pulls a Dumerville move again this year.
Denver will save $10 million in the salary cap by moving on from DeMarcus Ware. With Miller chomping at the bit for the big contract, that looks like a pretty enticing waiver move. Ware is up there in age but damn he looked like he is still an animal out there. Perhaps that's a guy we look to improve the outside pass rush with in the short term
The only thing debatable about it is whether or not they are going to tag him. I said last night that I think it would be a pretty dick move on the Broncos part not to atleast give him some sort of contract. Obviously its a business , but if I was betting on it Id say he plays next season with a contract instead of a franchise tag. IDK why anyone would think that there's even a 1 percent chance he isnt back in Denver next year though.
