Hmm, well, I hope they'd be receptive to an NFL team. The thing is, even Canada's biggest cities only have like 2m - 3m people, so those are still going to be small market teams. You'd need strong pan-Canadian interest, since any team that moves to Canada instantly loses ~90% of its fan base. (In Buffalo's case, most would just become Giants fans.) There's really no way to know if it'd work unless the league actually goes through with moving a team to Canada, but I think the Bills would have been the most logical choice. The other option would be moving the Rams up to Vancouver.
I'm glad Bills will stay put. Wouldn't mind if Psyco was shipped close to the polar circle, not necessarily north one.
The actual cities are similar in population, but the Chicago metropolitan area is like 9.5m people vs 5.5m for Toronto.
Is Pegula going to rely on 5 straight years of number 1 overall picks to rebuild the Bills like he's trying to rebuild the Sabres?
I'm not much of a hockey fan but isnt that how most hockey teams build a great team for the future? Pick in the top 5 a couple years and get elite players and eventually you'll contend for a Stanley Cup!
Well Im just saying dont expect him taking over to make an immediate impact. Because it hasnt for the Sabres. They've just been bad enough to get insanely high picks in the last couple years. But most likely the Bills arent going anywhere until either Manuel becomes the guy or they find the guy at QB.
They've also been making trades to get some of those draft picks too. The Sabres are going to be a huge force in the next 2-3 seasons. They are (finally) doing it right, IMO.
Well if they land Connor McDavid, whos supposedly the next Crosby-like player, in next years draft then I agree. They need to suck really bad again this year and get that number 1 pick.
To be fair, I believe the Bills did win the AFL Championship away back in the day. Like when there was six teams. So you got that going for you. Which is nice.
Is the bills stadium as dangerous for jet fans as they say? According to bills fans its like you get beat from drunk people just cuz your jersey is green.
They have the 1st round draft picks from the Islanders and the Blues, as well as their own in 2015. They could package to get the #1 overall, if they choose to do so, assuming either one of those two teams don't do it for the Sabres.
