As good as the Rams D maybe is, there were plenty of plays there to be made and the lack of plays lost the game. Fitz could of damn well played much worse but that doesn't excuse so many plays left out on the field today. Like I said earlier, the offense today reminded me like Greg McElroy. It's just downright sad how this team can't ever get lucky with qbs. The last time this time had a good qb was Brett Favre for half of the year.
There is no excuse for the play calling. Absolutely atrocious. If Gailey doesn't want to throw, then start Powell at QB. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
Playcalling meant to achieve garbage QB numbers got okay QB numbers. How is Petty supposed to accomplish anything when the OC can't call a game to save his life.
I mean when does a QB's first start ever go well? I know its not fair to compare the two but Brady's first start went 13/23 for 168 yards. Again, dont rip me for comparing a HOF'er to Bryce Freaking Petty, but the fact is that this was Petty's first career start and anyone who was expecting him to throw for 300+ yards with 3 TD's is just being unrealistic. We all pretty much knew this game was gonna be run-heavy with quick passes to try and get his feet wet. He made some bad reads and mistakes but its just growing pains. I also believe that the Anderson incomplete was more on Robby for jogging the route instead of a full on sprint. Daltons first game he went 10/15 for 81 yards. Russell Wilson only threw 153 yards his first game and was an L. I hope. I hope that Petty can become the QB we've been waiting for but history tells us that a QB's first start is usually nothing to write home about. I also didnt appreciate the play calling. It was conservative to a fault. how do you run on 1st,2nd and 3rd when you need 10 yards? Why didnt we take more shots down the field? So many questions and we'll never get the answers we want. Chan's play-calling was infuriating.
I was all excited to see our 4th rounder out there Only to be eclipsed by our second rounder I supposed And.......a big meh
I remember my father calling me up on the phone and telling me he thought Brady was special. It was after his 7th start. While you can't tell after one game, it does become apparent pretty quickly.
Brady had an established team around him with a HC who was excellent with X and Os. This CS for the jets sucks and should be fired at the end of the season. No QB is going to be developed by them.
He was unimpressive, but I think we need to seem him in a couple of more games before we discount him totally
Bryce Petty was: 1 plagued by horrendous play calling- thanks Chan and Todd 2 poor field position- thanks Jalin Marshall and Lachlan Edwards 3 Anderson stopped on the long one 4 Big Mouth Marshall took a bye week this week 5 It was his 1st fucking game!
Not exactly Brady, but you could tell that the Jets had something with Pennington after a couple of games. Probably the last QB the Jets drafted who gave me any genuine sense of hope. And no, Mark never did that for me even in the best of times.
Yeah you can usually tell if a guy has it or not within a few games, some may take a little longer. Gotta give Petty at least 4 games to show if he's got some sense of "it".
So I guess Russell Wilson should be benched too. He only managed a field goal against the Rams D in September. They lost 9-3. The kid played OK considering. Give him a few more starts. Jesus.
