I actually tend to agree with this.
There is no better way to find out if Gholston can get better by being thrown into the fire. He needs to learn from playing,.....he obviously isnt learning anything from coaching. Look at is this way ---- it couldn't hurt to have him in there since B. Thomas has turned into the Invisible Man.

To me, it seems like we only rush 3 guys on most plays. Thomas seems like he's in coverage more times than not. If Sutton called more blitzes, you'd see more sacks..

yeah but i also see a fair share of 5 man rushes in which they all get stoned by thier respective lineman blocking them. The jets do have a problem rushing the passer, although i think david harris is a very good pass rusher from the ilb position and his comeback will aide, but not solve our woes

Which makes it more disturbing that our pass defense is so bad.
If you only have 3 guys rushing the QB, then can't 8 guys cover the receivers like a f--king blanket? How could someone be open?

I have defended Thomas for a long time but I do think that the Jets are going to have to go out and find a new OLB to replace him. They need some LB's that can cover Tight Ends because that is an opposing posistion that is killing them. Hopefully David Harris can come back and help us out in that area.

But yeah in the off season I would look into adding a new 3-4 OLB.
