What exactly did Brady Quinn do wrong in his time with Cleveland? In his first start, he played great. Sure it was against the Broncos defense but still, it was his first career start. He was like 23-35 for like 250 and 2 TD's I believe. If we're looking to draft a QB, Quinn imo is better and more NFL ready than Freeman (who is the only player realistically available at 17) and to get Sanchez we'd have to part with 17, 52 and proably our fourth rounder also. That being said, I'd rather give our guys a shot, but I voted yes only if the FO/CS is looking to seriously upgrade the QB position
Based on what, exactly? His 66 passer rating that was padded by a game against arguably the worst defense in the league in Denver? His whopping 38% completion percentage against Buffalo? He was just as bad as Clemens was in his 2nd season, and that's without constant pressure in his face and arguably better weapons. I really don't see how you can make an argument that he's better, let alone easily. Quinn's a crapshoot, just like our QBs.
It says that they have a lot of money invested in Anderson and they can't pay both, and nobody is showing interest in Anderson
Based on what? Quinn's numbers last year isn't something a rookie (any rookie) can't surpass. So, I really hope you didn't have "NFL Experience" in mind when you made this statement.
How is Quinn a serious upgrade? Kellen's first start, he was 23 of 42 for 226 and a TD, if we're going to base things on one game. Oh, and that was against a Redskins team that was in the top half of the league in passing defense and 11th in points allowed. The fact is, Quinn sucked it up after that game. The Broncos made a lot of people look good last season. He didn't throw another TD in the next two games against marginally better pass defenses. If the CS wants to draft someone, so be it. Trade for Quinn? Why waste the pick?
I'm not a huge Quinn fan but I'm saying if the FO/CS thinks that Clemens or Ratliff aren't the answer then instead of drafting Freeman they're better off going with Quinn. Freeman imo is a project and will take years to develop into a solid QB. We have a team that is ready to compete now. And not it means much, but he played with a broken index finger on his throwing hand. Don't remember when it happened but it was part of the reason why he was put on the IR after that awful Houston start.
I'd say Clemens victory over Pittsburgh was way more impressive than anything Quinn has done so far... and I'm a Ratliff fan.
Clemens near comeback against Baltimore was pretty damn impressive too. That throw on the post play to McCareins was beautiful
Let me be the first to inform some of you: Brady Quinn will be at best a mediocre QB in the NFL and most likely will not make it at all. Remember where you heard this. There was a reason he dropped to #22 and now, Cleve. is trying to dump him. Only a sucker would touch this guy.
That play is so annoying. I often wonder if he had just caught that and the jets went on to win the game how it could have changed things. Imagine what it would have done for Clemens' confidence? Imagine what it would have done for the teams confidence in Clemens? Things could have been much different if McShithands catches that damn ball or the other one that hit him in the hands in the end zone later in the drive.
I like the potential of all three top Qbs in the draft better than I like the potential of Quinn. However I like the potential of Quinn better than any of the Qbs we have on the roster already.
