Oh geez here we go. The grass is always greener. As if Ramsey, Cutler or Croyle as accomplished so much.

Do you really think the Jets new management is going to present a contract GUARANTEEING that Chad is going to be a starter?
Are you nuts? Why would you think they would guarantee Chad ANYTHING?

In case you haven't heard, Bradway is no longer the GM..he is the only one stupid enough to offer that in a contract.

At least they have potential. We already know Brooks has a low ceiling. He's a career backup at best.

Based on what? He played behind a rag tag line and ran for his life and had NO running game and a team & coach that packed it in. And in spite of it all he was respectable. Put any of those other QBs in the same situation and you'll get the same result.

You guys can't really say Bollinger is inexperienced anymore, considerign he started almost a whole season. He definitly deserves to be able to compete for the starting job. Considerign the shapee our team was in, he did a pretty good job of not getting injured or blown out. If Bollinger had been a 1st or 2nd round pick, you guys would say that it he did fine considering all of the other injuries and that it was just a year to gain experience. that said, I do not really think Bollinger is a franchise QB, but anything is possible.

I've thought the same way, and am surprised by the negativity shown to Brooks Bollinger on this site. Did he not pass for over 300 yards against Miami, the first QB to do that since Slinging Sammy Baugh? Did he not do so with no Mawae in front of him or CMart behind him? He was Daniel in the Lions Den, and he came out wearing lion-fur slippers. I think he deserves the starter spot.

As a professional franchise you never start a season with players you know cannot win. Brooks is not good enough to be a starter for anyone. I wonder, is he had a full season to start all 16 games, if he'd even improve enough to be a solid backup. Hard to say, but behind the best line in the league Brooks would still be the worst starting QB in the league.

    What makes Chad a leader?

He has not played one full season (16 games) as a JET. He is coming off two major shoulder injuries and he lacks mobility. Our offensive line is non-existing. SO LET ME GET IT STRAIGHT: you want a high priced 29 year old with a sore shoulder and no mobility running our team.

The way I look at it the only person on the team who is able to give us a shot is BB.

Why is it the dumbest threads get the most responses? Simply amazing.

Brooks Bollinger should not even be on the sidelines as a towel waver or a player.

Like I said before, If everything played out the exact same way, except Bollinger was a first or second round pick, you guys would be starting threads about the flashes he showed this season at timesand how he is going to have a breakout year this coming year. You would be blaming the losses on injuries. Brooks Bollinger would be fine with a playoff caliber team around him, all he would ahve to do is manage the game and he proved he can do that. With the players we had on the field most of last year Manning, Marino, Namath, Favre, Rothlesberger, etc... would have had bad years. As cheesy as survivor is, we should be able to vote people off the board, unfortunately it would likely work against all the inteligent posters(no matter their opinion) and the board would be over-run by an army of twelve year olds, with their all mighty commander Champ...

Yes, of course. You've been in the Jets huddle and team locker room, and you know for a fact that Chad is a leader and Bollinger is not. Funny how Chad will become not so much of a leader anymore if he comes back and takes the team nowhere.

I can respect you wanting bollywood to start, but i have to disagree, i think he is a backup QB, and nothing more.

I always thought the problem with Bode Miller is that he doesn't go downhill fast enough??

We need a tough mobile QB!!!!! The JETS are still 11 million over the cap. Bollinger is the best stop-gap QB who will not cost millions. This year we should concentrate on building a big athletic OL. We should be able to get a franchise QB next year in the draft. That gives our new OL a year to begin to solidify.

    So what's your solution?

Chad will not be ready to play opening day. He will be OK to play about 1/3 of the way through the regular season. Brooks is an OK backup, but we will need a vet to play the first half of the season. Look for the Jets to pick up a vet (ie Ramsey) to play the first 1/3 to 1/2 of the season, then look for CP to come in a compete for the starting job around mid to end of September. Whoever we get as a temp vet will be on a short hook after CP is ready to play. Next year CP will be the starter and BB will be an "OK" backup.
