It would no longer be a targeting move. What they would be doing is simply stockpiling picks. What I would really like to see after the above happening, is the Jets packing up a few of the extra picks this year, and trading them to someone for a second round pick next year. Then, if something blows up in our faces this year, we use the extra pick in a package to move up next year and grab Quinn. I would like to see the Jets grab one of the RBs this year (not Bush) but it isn't critical right now. We have Houston, Blaylock, and of course Martin. I don't think it makes a lot of sense right now with legit holes to fill. Depending where they drop to they could pull off a grab of Hawk...
Ever since the senior bowl, i've been saying (obviously not here since this is my second post) that the Jets should trade down from the #4 pick and use whoevers 1st round pick they get to draft DeAngelo Williams and in the 2nd round pickup Brody Croyle. I saw him in the practices and in the bowl game and he really showed me a lot more than Cutler did. Even during the combine, he looked better overall to me than Cutler did. Cutler is on the hype train right now and I don't think that he's going to be the guy most people think he will be. Croyle can be drafted in the 2nd round and IMO would be a great choice (cheaper too) at the QB position.
I'm diggin' Croyle. Maybe it's the whole Alabama Namathy-thing. Something about the Jay Cutler boomlet reminds me of when Jeff George came out and shot straight up.
I love Croyle as a quarterback. I like him as a prospect better than Cutler and better than Young. However, the injury concerns drop him because it's hard to trust a QB who you can't trust will stay healthy.
