I haven’t heard a peep…is there any update other than he’s getting an MRI today? Hope he doesn’t miss too much time
Totally agree. We have game breakers. Breece Hall, Garrett Wilson, Mike Williams, two battering rams behind Breece, and a good deep OL. There was receptions to 8 different players. The TE's had 108 yards. They're looking to really punch people around here. They have O&D Linemen coming in to block on top of the two blocking TE's. Lazard and Conklin are showing why experience is important with Rodgers as Rodgers is looking to grow with the other guys they have. JD is attempting to set the team up long term and compete now. He's trying make a pipeline of key players at key positions. I'm totally good with Olu, he was a great pick up for the team.
Hopefully he's back before the inevitable Tyron Smith absence that was baked into his acquisition cost as a free agent plug. If that unluckily ends up overlapping things could get dicey
Glad you scouted that--I meant to but got caught up in other stuff--Hopefully he gets a start or 2 and then Moses comes back--it'll allow Olu to reflect and work on technique from gamefilm.
Not even sure what a couple of weeks means. If he misses denver he is out 17 days till the next game. So maybe only denver?
Olu stonewalled everyone he faced except for one guy who got leverage and was able to bull rush him into Rodgers on a 3 down pass play. Roger’s got the ball out just in time but it was incomplete.
Bowers would be a good long term investment but we are in Win Now mode so Fashanu was the right pick in my opinion
I think at this point I'd keep Olu in there and use Moses as the swing. Morgan Moses looked mostly like crap before he left the game. Olu needs to learn sooner, not later.
Ha, maybe it works out that way. It's all good. Knock on wood they all stay healthy and JJ's the only loss for the year
https://247sports.com/article/penn-...triots-nfl-thursday-night-football-236534826/ Fashanu was credited with 14 offensive snaps (19%) and five special teams snaps (24%). He played 13 of those snaps at right tackle in relief of Moses and one of those snaps — the first of his career on offense — as an extra offensive lineman on Hall's touchdown. His overall PFF grade was 70.8, with a run block grade of 78.1 and a pass block grade of 40.2. It's worth noting that he entered the game when it was already in hand for the Jets.
Pass block seems low, I did watch him, and didn't see any mistakes. But he needs a larger sample size, which he will get soon. I agree with @abyzmul , if he plays well, Moses can stay on the bench until inevitably Smith gets hurt.
Moses out 2-4 weeks… and that’s why Olu was ABSOLUTELY the only pick there. We knew he’d have to play and here we are. I was hoping it wouldn’t hit this soon but here we are. I was happy with the pick then and I’m even more happy now…we have plenty of playmakers in Hall, GW, Allen, Williams…we needed an OT way worse than a TE.
It's a long season so you need quality depth on the offensive line. Drafting an OT may not be a sexy pick but they give the stars time to do there job..
Kyle Brady Jonnie Mitchell Anthony Becht Doug Jolley Dustin Keller NO MORE 1st ROUND PICKS WASTED ON TEs ANYMORE PLEASE PS - Jace Amaro
Granted…Bowers already seems SO much better than any of those guys…though Keller had some nice games. But I agree 100%. If both are needs, I’d go OT over TE EVERY SINGLE TIME. And for us, OT was, to me, a MUCH bigger need than TE. This discussion never made sense to me….I wanted the OT then and I’m even more relieved now. We KNEW we would need him. Seeing Bowers go off doesn’t change that. JD made the absolutely right call on this one.
I tried to focus on evaluating Brock Bowers as a prospect only rather than getting caught up with the terrible history this team has drafting TEs high because that history doesn't have much to do with Bowers... but I couldn't fully ignore it... I was happy with Olu
