Herm led us to the playoffs w/ 2 different QBs, Chad has led teams to the playoffs under 3 different HCs. Together they were a good pair. W/ Curtis from '98-'00 we made the playoffs ONCE, then Herm came and we made it 3 of 4 years.

Yeah they missed a year under parcells because Vinnie got hurt, and they almost made it back with Ray Lucas. Something Herm could have never pulled off. Then we had Al Groh and finished 9-7 and missed.

Sounds like he had all the tools waiting for him.

No No No. After herms last game as HC he told all the Jets players to start getting ready for next year. 3 days later he bolts for the chiefs does not tell a single player he is leaving. Gutless yellow bellied chicken shit! The Jets don't need that kind of person in the CS.

LOL I do not know what is more idiotic.........

The idiot suggesting bringing Herm back or some idiot defending him, as if he was actually a good football coach.

so the "Herm did well" debate has returned.... he has his own players in KC and they haven't won more than 5 games.... he had Vermeil's players and made the playoffs in his 1st year... see how it works??

he's a great coach with other peoples players

So basically, Herm is faultless and infallible.

    I nominate Herm for Pope.

I guess there argument of looking at simple numbers didn't work out too well - no response.

They never do tell the whole story.

A black guy, a white guy and a statistician walk into a bar.....the bartender says

    is this a joke?

and Herm missed 2 years when Chad got hurt.

No one is debating Herm is even close to the coach parcells is so no I don't think w/ Ray Lucas we get to 8-8 w/ Herm and his staff.

We had Al groh and choked away a playoff spot, the next 2 years we miraculously made the playoffs w/ Herm w/ much of the same talent in '01 and a revamped D in '02.

and back to your 5 vs. 44 argument. It's about percentages so why isn't it valid? regardless of that he has the highest % of playoff seasons in Jets history of any HC. Did that make him great? no, you need to win SBs to be great BUT he was a good coach for us and it sucks missing the playoffs every year again.

It being about percentages is fine, but the probabilities of having a 60% rating over a span of 44 is immensely more unlikely than over a span of 5.

i think herman edwards is probably the worst current head coach in football. In fact, soon this statement will become obselete when Pioli fires his ass.

You don't think Woody has enough money to fire Elmo?

    No pun intended.
