Sure, why not Herm? As long as Woody is in charge of the operation, the team isn't going anywhere. At least Herm will provide entertaining press conferences.
I'd take Al Groh as DC over most candidates. BTW, this thread is dumb. Not as if we'd ever hire Herm back, anyway, but still. Dumb.
I notice that the OP is generally fond of stupid what if threads, although this one beats the others by quite some distance. In the stupidity department, that is.
There's something strangely missing from this thread, but I just can't put my finger on it. Oh wait, I remember now; junc needs to chime in and say how great Herm was.
We wouldn't want a guy who all he did was win when we were healthy, we want that young hot assistant that we'll fire in 3 years to start this process all over again.
I always take requests:smile: The Herm ship has sailed, he was good for us but we can't go back. We had a good thing w/ him but everyone hated him for some reason. I guess they liked missing the playoffs, imagine if Arizona and philly fans though they'd rather miss the playoffs than play in the WC rd or if the Giants thought that way last year or indy 2 years ago and Pitt 3 years ago but our fans will settle for nothing less than a Super Bowl though some forget you actually have to make the playoffs first before you can get to a Super Bowl.
We had Brooks Bollinger as our QB most of the year we had heimerdinger as OC. Heimerdinger had Kerry Collins this year and they were the AFC top seed and Herm led KC to the playoffs w/o hackett in 2006.
I definitely don't want him back, but I agree with your original sentiment that in 3 - 4 years we'll be back to square 1. At this point, all I really want is a coach that is capable of learning and for them to stick around for more than a presidential term. This constant state of reboot is getting old.
Herm wanted to you know throw the ball down the field he brings in Hermdinger who gets rid of the check down, doesn't use the strong set to run with and both QB's got killed. Chad was coming back from surgery Herm and Bradaway let KMack walk didn't have a plan at LT and let Becht walk without an offer in order to open up the O with a QB who was coming off major surgery. Herm killed Chad, Fiedler and Martin. He went to KC and killed that team as well. We won with a strong running game and Chad's play action not by having Chad use his big arm to be a playmaker at QB.
Looks like nobody misses ol' Herm! It's just silly to even think of him as a HC with his history. Let him go to Indy to be DC. "Oh, I'l be back M*therf**ker, I'll be back!"
