Brick is from Long Island? Never realized. Hope his Ring of Honor ceremony is this season, can't wait to be in the building for that.

That is just Mehta guessing what might have happened but it was really not the issue since Brick was not going to get paid that much this year. The choices were take the pay cut or get cut. The timing is all that is questionable, there should have been a much bigger effort to determine if he was going to take the pay cut at the beginning of free agency.

You could be right, Macc would go QB over LT. But his mantra of BPA would almost certainly steer him to Tunsil. The QBs in this class are nothing special. Tunsil is special. It will probably never happen but it would be fun to watch if it did.

Brick is a true Jet. A true ironman. ONE snap he missed in 10 fucking years. Guy has been so reliable. BUT his play has diminished the past 2 years. I'll always remember when we drafted him, and thank him for his 10 years with us, but I think/hope we'll be okay in that position.

I say wait until Mangold retires and put them in the ROH together... The way it should be... Be easy, Brick. Thank you so very much!

Not just Cimini... Breer, Costello and everyone else who said Brick had been considering retirement long before he was asked to take a paycut. Mocking people who believed the media, then posting an article based off pure speculation by a notorious hack is not a great gameplan.

Well mostly everyone here will base opinions off of reporters so figured it would fit right in.

And people can say what they want about Manish Metha. And I agree he sucks too. But I would take his pulse on a story over Cimini's any day.

Nothing Cimini's writes is stated with a fact.

Mehta is exactly what gave Cimini a bad rep in the first place. An employee of the NYDN tabloid pages, working for the same editors Cimini did that make a living with anonymous sources.

Even the article you quoted is based off an anonymous source.

There isn't a single NYJ beat writer I'd take less seriously than Manish Mehta. The only reason you quoted his article is because it supports your crusade of an argument.

Highly doubt he's the only person who has that opinion , and I only call it an opinion because no one except Brick and Jets brass know for sure , why Brick retired.

It's obvious he would've played at his original salary. A Manish article doesn't need to tell me that but some people need to read it from a source, any source, to believe it

It's hard to believe a decade has already passed since we drafted Brick. Time flies man.

True enough but he was probably thinking about retirement anyway. His review of the concussion movie was a hint that he was walking away.

No, Cimini reports facts correctly. It's his opinion pieces that are questionable. Mehta is the one who never has any facts, especially with new FO with all his unnamed sources gone, and reduced to pure speculations to get clicks.

Well like I said I don't take any of them seriously. Especially nowadays where it's more important to get things out quickly than it is to get them correct.

But some guys here are sheep that will believe anything they see from a writer so whether it was written by Manish or Cimini or anyone else shouldn't matter when it was "fact" yesterday that he retired because of concussion worries and not money.
