Sorry if you do not get it but if you have the #4 overall pick & he turns out to be only average & not super star material IMHO you pissed that pick goodbye.

Any supposed GAME CHANGER as I posted earlier I would have been quite happy with. Sorry a plodding OLMan does not do it for me.

Apparently the LT position isn't very important to Champ...

The linemen allow "game changers" to change games.

Personally, I'd rather have the hogs and their coterie of "playmakers" than the Greatest Show on Turf and their linemen. That's just me.

Ah the foundation for house sonny boy. Sonny boy you are way to far to into Jets media hype IMHO to see the trees from the forest. Better do much reaserch & see what the last 3 supposed "bookends" we took in the 1st rpond got us. Also you do realize that we have supposely attempted to build a winning team for 37 some odd years & have FAILED miserably so why should this year or future years be any different? Do also kindly remember ESPN negative comments & video on Brick. Say they are even half correct then Brick is in for big trouble in the NFL. Please do not start moaning & groaning 2/3 seasons from now when he turns out to be just average or even less then average & we shoulda took this guy or that guy talk instead of Brick starts heating up cause Brick is just a ho huml player

Being optimistic about Ferguson has nothing to do with Jets media hype. Many experts and scouts were very high on D'Brick prior to the draft, and most had him as the top player on their draft board behind Bush. The positive comments on Ferguson's potential FAR outweighed the negative comments.

So the fact that we have had failed drafts in the past means we are doomed with this draft and future drafts as well? I don't really follow that logic...

Ah you will see as the sands of time go by. JUst because Fergie was top rated by the so called "experts" means NOTHING except ITHO he was a better player then most in this years pool. That is all it means it does not guarantee success & I again refer to ESPN with the VIDEO to prove there point that Brick WILL NOT handle speed rushers well in the NFL

OH NO negative comments on Brick!!! Did you watch draft coverage leading up to it? Brick was probably had the least amount of negative feedback of anyone projected in the top 10. Was there some show that had your guaranteed "game changers" list that we missed? I guess the Jets missed that one too. Darn.

Funny stuff, CJ. If there is a rap on Ferguson, it's about his ability to handle the bull rush, not the outside speed rush. The more you post, the more I realize how little you actually know.... that is when your posts are coherent enough to understand.

Ahhh yes, the mystical power of that ESPN VIDEO. How silly of me...now that you bring it up, D'Brick is guarenteed to be a bust :rofl2:

Since they all weigh 300 pounds these days, aren't all lineman plodding, kinda? You still need them. When the Ravens won everyone talked about the defense, but one of the most important players on the team was Jonathon Ogden.

...and everyone is right. You can't just say you wanted a game changer, you have to name exactly who you would have picked instead of Ferguson. You keep saying 2/3 years from now..........well 2/3 years from now whomever the player that is excelling and was picked after Ferguson, THAT'S the guy you're going to say we should have picked. But it doesn't work like that, unless you name him right now.

Everyone sees through your bullshit. Name the guy you wanted instead of Ferguson. Of course you won't...but since you won't, don't go whining 2/3 years from now about some guy we shouldda had 2/3 years ago!

Yeah, it was changed after being up for about 5 min. Either it was a mistake or they jumped the gun and posted it before the official news came out.

"Game changer" Jones went 2 in 1980.
"Plodding OLMan" Munoz went 3 in 1980.

(I'm not saying the Jets needed a left tackle in 1980. Rather, I'm saying that offensive lineman do get drafted in the top part of the 1st round and generally they do pan out. So what if the Jets drafted bookends who didn't pan out? That's doesn't mean Ferguson will not pan out.)

Yeah, I would like to see a name, too. This way we can make note of it and point it out to champ in 2010.

(He did mention "wide receiver" Vernon Davis a couple months ago.)

Marvin did technically panned out. Multi time pro-bowler, regarded as one of the best linemen in the game at that time.
The only reason why he didnt go to the SB was because of AJ Duhe and Don Shula.
