P.S. the only way the Jets CAN bench their starter, is if Sanchez starts.

If they claim Smith wins the competition, the only way they can put Sanchez on the foeld, would be for Smith toget hurt, and I am not talking John Abraham Vagina sprain.

It's gonna be a tough day for Sachez apologists when they finally have to face the fact that he's just not that good. Many tears will be shed that day, all of which will have a green kool aid look to them.

I don't think Sanchez is done as a player, in fact I think he will be an average to above average starting QB in the NFL........... Out of New York

He has been beat up too much and the media and city has gotten to him.. Dude can't go to a knick game without being booed by all of MSG. Its just time for him to move on. On a team with a good defense and good pieces around him on offense, he can thrive. Just get him out of New York.

What happens if Sanchez wins the job and turns out to be a good qb? How abt that???

Why the hell do so many so call fans want to see him fail? It makes all the sense in the world as a fan to see him succeed. The truth is in between the love and hate.

Sanchez' so called lovers claim it was everything around him, he was destined to fail ( I am inclined to believe in this theory).

Sanchez so called haters claim it was all on Sanchez, every pick, drop, sack, etc

So to meet in the middle would be to accept we didnt have the right pieces on offense for Sanchez, and Sanchez did perform poor and made bad decisions. Simple.

I hope Sanchez wins this job and shuts espn and other so called experts.

What if I became a millionaire tomorrow? Same odds as Intchez becoming even serviceable.

I just don't see this happening. He just doesn't appear to have what it takes to be a consistent winner.

He has had five years to prove himself, and all he has shown is that he makes poor decisions, cannot throw with consistent accuracy, fumbles way too much, and basically sucks as a QB.

The picks and fumbles , especially the buttfumble were all on him. He is only here because a billionaire owner is too cheap to pay to have him gone.

Mark Sanchez is now synonymous with failure.

Cut him now, pick up Tavaris Jackson and get this offense back to respectability.

It's irrelevant because the post you were responding to was making the point that some QBs break out later in their careers. That's all. You seemed to take issue with the fact that I mentioned Smith as an example of this. I'm not even suggesting Sanchez is good or even mediocre, nor am I comparing the 2. You are acting like I'm trying to factually prove Sanchez will definitely have a break out year. I'm just saying it's a possibility, not that its even likely. I'm arguing against those that say he's done and has no chance of success at all.

all impossible at this point (you know Jackson's back in seattle right?)

Cutting him would have left them with... well nothing to pay anybody else, you wouldn't even be able to sign a plethora of UDFA's to blow the season on as you try and attain one of those popular QB's from the draft. (as ridiculously stupid a strategy that is)

Or did you want to decrease our cap spending limit next year as we restructure everybody to get more cash next year?

We give him one more shot and if he isn't worth 13 million dollars we can cut him and get 8 million, 15 if we cut Holmes too.

Point is thats no longer in the cards pal, even when(if?) it was it seemed pretty desperate to want to get rid of so badly you're willing to put yourself in cap hell. especially when you can keep him on the bench for the same amount of money.

The only thing that is certain is about half the posters on TGG will have tons of egg on their faces. Which half, well, is uncertain.

Mangold thinks Mark is a fantastic QB, according to the newspaper today. Makes you wonder. Of course, he does not see the game behind him, does he? Just snap the ball, chief.

Some of you around here are really whiny over reactors. The article is basically saying that we have a hard early schedule and a lack of playmakers on offense to help whom ever is quarterback. It's nothing that new and many around here have been point out the same two facts for a good part of the offseason.

The writing may not be great, but the jist of the article is on target.
