this is the type of thread that makes me want to burn my green and white
some of you guys are just embarrasing to refer to as fellow fans
we scored on san diego the second half and the defense just kept getting torched
favre had big numbers that 2nd half
oakland we came back and tied the game with like 40 seconds left
Kansas- gee a come from behind win oh yeah forgot about that
NE- two HUGE late drives- huge
early NE game was his second game in a new system

come on guys this is stupid
yes denver would it have been nice to seem him make a few better 3rd and 4th down throws yes, it would have also been nice to see coles not drop a ball and also cotchery not drop a ball.

also in many of our wins we had big leads- do you want to fall behind so we have to come back is that the idea
WOULD THAT MAKE U HAPPIER, PLEASE

The Number of Second half comebacks and/or 4th quarter comebacks = THE most overrated stat that people waste time discussing when it comes to quarterbacks. (It's even ahead of quarterback rating - another horribly over-valued stat)

Don't blame Farve for the screens. Blame the adjustments of opposing defenses. Blame the lack of a deep threat. Blame the Jet's offensive philosphy. Place the blame where it truly belongs. Farve throws what he's instructed to throw. He does what he's told. He's a professional. That's what he does..

Lord Favre is a significant part of the problem in our deep passing game, so he deserves some of the blame

Jesus H Christ. Another thread from you, basically saying the same thing as the last (Favre sucks!) but in a slightly different way?

I'm glad I wasn't here to see what things were like when the Jets went 4-12 last year!

I'm not saying things will turn out the same for the Jets this year, but Favre's role on this team so far isn't that different than Elway's was in '97. I wonder if he had fans ripping him a new one every week too because he wasn't superman, carrying the team each and every goddamn week?

It's usually ... like ... so the guy there who uses the word "dude" that is so like having the intelligence check issues, like.

ps. FYI most (all?) of your team's players aren't from NY either, lol. Are they jokes too?

pps. or maybe I should have wrote "you're teams players" to even out the grammar usage a little in this post ;)

So Favre should be punished for heading huge first half leads? We've only lost 4 games this season and thus he's only 4 games where he had a chance to lead a second half comeback.

    Exactly.

4th quarter comebacks is not a big stat. A quarterback is credited with a 4th quarter comeback if his team kicks the game-winning field goal one minute into the 4th quarter. That would count just the same as a QB whose team wins 28-23 after trailing 0-23 to start the 4th quarter (this is an actual example; 12-1-85 Minnesota at Philadelphia, Wade Wilson 13 of 27 for 187 yards and 3 TDs- most of that came in the 4th quarter).

You could see right there how the 4th quarter comeback statistic is screwy. A QB could play lights out in the 4th and lead his team to multiple scores after being down big or a quarterback could lead his team to a field goal and a 10-9, 14-13, 19-17 type win.

Furthermore, why does the QB get so much credit or blame? He's got teammates, right? Joe Montana didn't lead the 49ers to a come-from-behind win in Super Bowl 23 by himself. He had 10 players helping him on every play.

LOL Up to your usual stuff, huh? Changing the rules to suit your arguments....

An INT that was probably a TD or worst case an incompletion if Cotchery doesn't slip. How convenient of you to forget that part.
Is is also Favre's fault that Baker fell down in OT on a play that would have likely put them in FG range to win the game?
Point is, he didn't have a great game (most of the Jets didn't that day), but he still put some throws on the money that should have been enough to win. Shit just didn't go the Jets' way that day. Ask the Broncos. Look what the Raiders did to them in Denver last weekend.

Yes but Favre gets no credit from his critics because he threw the pick 6 to put them behind. I guess that means that Brett didn't feel any pressure during that drive to win the game.

BTW, if anything is becoming clear to me its that these Jets WRs are a bit overrated. They can't get open downfield for shit. They were locked down all day on sunday.

    :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Apparently, you'll say ANYTHING to not have to give Favre credit for something. No matter how small or innocuous that something may be. Funny stuff.

Excellent post. I've been saying this shit forever. An extension of this moronic logic is when someone judges quarterbacks based on how many superbowl rings they have. As if winning superbowls is an individual achievement and Football is an individual sport like tennis. "Elway has 2 rings and Marino has none, so I'd put Elway over Marino on my all-time list". NEVERMIND the fact that Elway's running back had three of the most dominant seasons in the history of the sport at his position. (And in two of those years they won the superbowl, and in the third year, they were the first seed in the AFC playoffs but were upset in the divisonal round by Jacksonville) It is not only illogical, it's downright idiotic.
