Favre is an ass. Did you forget he "retired"? Also, he is old and fragile. He loves the dome. He wants to beat Green Bay, which he did. He likes the NFC. He would not be the same QB if he was still a Jet. The team could probably be (6-2) but he would fail down the stretch or into the playoffs. The Jets made the right move.
If we're really gonna talk hypotheticals, what are the odds that Favre tosses up a game killing interception trying to force the action down the stretch in either of the Miami games? Honestlly it's like some people didn't even watch the games last season. Favre is not that great anymore, he's being propped up by his ego, his image, and his extraordinarily talented Vikings teammates. Good for him, has nothing to do with the Jets. Let's all move on to another Danny Woodhead thread and call it a day.
What if Danny Woodhead had wings and could fly? Would he have been able to tackle Ginn on at least one of the two returns?
I mockingly laugh at Danny Woodhead's measurables, spit on his intangibles, and fart in his general direction to boot!
Yes we would probably have that record. But remember, if we still had farve, we wouldn't had gotten Sanchez. Which means we would have been stuck with Clemens next year....
Favre has the luxury of a relatively mediocre division, monster o-line (on paper and in reality), best RB in the league, and a top defense that gets pressure via Jared Allen. Favre is good, but stick him on the Jets and the results aren't necessarily the same
Then this goes back to the CS knowing he was hurt and playing him. Favre was also not snow-white in all of that, if he knew he was hurt and didn't care about his NFL starts record he would have sat. Yes Favre was a D'bag, but without him, we wouldn't have had Sanchez...etc...etc... Had we still kept Favre we would be looking at next aprils draft for our next QB and I'm no guru, but no one really is jumping out at me...(Cakes??)
Favre lost to the Dolphins and barely beat the Bills last year. He also lost to the Raiders and the 49ers. He didn't want to be here, and it showed on the field
Favre is doing well because of 3 factors: 1) He knows the system 2) Play-calling (I assume) isn't retarded 3) He isn't injured Atleast one of those 3 factors was jeapordized during the season when he was here last year and you saw what happened. So yeah, maybe the NYJ would be doing better with him here this year... but I thought we all agreed trying to find the long-term answer at QB was priority?
Passing it 51 fucking times when you have AP and a 40 y/o QB is RETARDED play calling. He will be injured in a week or two, write it down.
