No matter what happens... there WILL be a QB at number 4 - the question is... do we take him or F_ck it up another year. I'm a Vince Young guy... but I'll take any of these: Bush, Leinart, Young, Cutler.
If they do sign Brees I want the Jets to be the team to ante up for the #2 overall pick. Leinart makes too much sense for the Jets. It will seem like a big hit in the short term to give up all those picks, but in the longterm it will be well worth it...
We have to draft Leinart. We dont know if well have this oppurtunity to pick up another Franchise QB. I think even if it means trading up we have to draft him.
im not criticizing you right now but im just wondering, what do you have against drew brees? is it the shoulder injury? just curious...
Even if New Orleans does sign Brees, Tennessee is right after them waiting to pick Matt Leinart...we would certainly have to trade up if we want Leinart...
We would have to give up our #4 & at least one more pick to get NO's #2 pick if the FO decided they wanted Leinart...
It is almost the perfect pick value if we Trade Abraham to Denver for the 29th. We then package the 4th, 29th and 68th for New Orleans' 2nd and 130th. Draft Chart is here: http://www.thehuddlereport.com/NickelPackage/tradevaluechart.htm
I used to date Drew Brees' sister, not that that has anything to do with the topic other than it mentions Drew Brees
I dont think that we would trade both first rounders to move up 2 spots. I think our 1st, 2nd, 5th maybe for their 1st & 7th.
stay put at four, and draft whomever is there. no need to trade away picks. there are project guys like croyle who could be there from round 2 on.
I think we would. Look at the draft pick value chart I posted above. The values are there. When we traded for the 4th pick in 2003, the chart had it within a hundred value points.
Yeah, that'd about do it for me. Turned his game around in one off-season. He's a role model. Unfortunately, now, he's badly broken. You can criticize, though. I don't have a monopoly on the truth, and I hardly ever cry.
The Saints would take Mario Williams if they sign Brees, as reported by John Clayton. I agree with whoever said we should trade with the Saints. 2 firsts for their first. (I hope this doesn't turn out like the Drob debacle).
I'd bet money that ingesting a bowl full of paperclips would be enough to bring any grown man to tears.
Mark my words.... Drew Brees will be QB for the New Orleans Saints ....Not for Miami Dolphins in 2006.
Thanks Marco, It's guys like you with inside information on contract negotiations and personal knowledge to each players list of prioritized wants and needs that make Free Agency bearable.
