But how would we ever know for sure? Whether he's telling the truth or lying through his teeth, we're gonna get the same story how we was used/manipulated & taken advantage of.
I don't care what the truth is, there have been many players drafted that have done worst than lying. I just don't want the Jets to draft him because he is not as good as many think, his performance against Alabama had nothing to do with this hoax, it's his limited of talent that was displayed.

Personally, I think this whole thing is funny. JETS should stay away from Te'o, not because of this story, but because hes not top 10 talent IMO. Alabama exposed him, not only as an individual player, but as a leader. What if he won the Heisman? I mean, if it is true, that he lied to get sympathy votes, would he get stripped? Curious to hear peoples opinions.
Having been around the Hawaiian culture, I am aware of this type of behavior. An old Hawaiian man once referred to it as the "Poka Pupu'i Spirit". Apparently, this kind of behavior is common among young Hawaiian males that are trying to hide their homosexuality.
I wouldn't be surprised if Woody wants to add another act to the "circus" and forces us to draft Te'o.
Hard to argue with any of this. The theories about this being done to try to cover up homosexuality also seem very plausible. What seems so unlikely to me is that the ND athletic department would go along with this. Why would they want to risk so much to cover up for him being gay? Or to make it more likely for him to win the Heisman? There is so little upside and such tremendous potential downside for the university.
