Doesn't sound conflicting. That's the root of the problem and its been verified by Bowles in 2 press conference yesterday and numerous sources. Regis, Mangold and Colon all talked about it. The fact of the matter is both players will not be helping the Jets this year. One is off the roster and hopefully the other will be next year.

We will never know if Geno was planning to pay the man back. I'm thinking that if a player (FRINGE PLAYER) walked up to Brees, Manning or 'other QB's' in the locker room and demanded $600... the said 'other qb' would reply with something like "fuck off".

I think both are mutually exclusive from the other. IK making 500k doesn't mean that he shouldn't receive his 600 dollars back. IK handled it wrong by hitting the guy, Geno handled it wrong by putting his finger in his face, and being confrontational. I don't and/or refuse to believe that Geno would stiff a guy out of 600 dollars, I believe IK would've gotten his money back.

It is not justified but it should be expected.

I don't think so. If said other QB's like Brees and Manning owed a guy 600 dollars they would have taken care of it right away. I'm also pretty sure they wouldn't escalate the situation with an "F U" to anyone. They have more class in their little pinky than Geno has.

$600 is nothing in the NFL. And IKE must be smoking crack if he really thought Geno would show up to his camp during the off season.

Bowles is right, this is little kid BS.

They would not have blown off the event either without so much as a phone call.

We don't know what was going on that day. The approach, while legitimate, probably not the best time or place. My guess is paying back a fringe player is the last thing on the starting quarterbacks mind. Most of them have assistants to handle finances.

One report said Geno's friend died in a motorcycle accident, one report claimed his brother broke his arm in a motorcycle accident. One report claimed Geno was sitting down minding his business and IK walked up to him and hit him, another claimed Geno put his hands on IK, another claimed he didn't. One claimed Geno called IK and told him what happened, and why he couldn't make it, another claimed he didn't bother to notify anyone the day of the event. Is that conflicting enough for you? The Geno supporters are rolling with the side that makes Geno look as good as possible, while his detractors are rolling with the side that makes Geno look bad. I'm only arguing/speaking about what's absolutely concrete which is the money and NOT punching a teammate.

That is the right thing to do. I thought I read that Geno lost a family friend in a motorcycle accident. Maybe IK wasn't the top of Genos priority at that point.

It was obviously on his mind or he would not have confronted IK.

I think that was debunked but I am not sure.

Who confronted who? I thought IK confronted Geno..? Makes more sense that person looking for dough would approach the person that was suppose to wheel it.

This really nails it. Some posters are playing out this scenario and substituting themselves and their friend or co-worker. What they're failing to do is add in the attitude and adrenaline that comes from playing football (especially right after a practice). Once the news broke from Incognito & Martin, it should be public knowledge to fans that these locker rooms still have a lot of that high school immaturity. Some of these players do NOT leave the crazy on the field but carry it with them throughout life.

    If the reports are true:
Geno displayed extremely poor judgement confronting Ik by shoving a finger in his face in front of all their teammates. He didn't roll up to Bob from Accounting or Sally from Marketing. Geno got in the face of a LB who's been battling big O-Lineman nonstop for a roster spot. In a locker room where the jock mentality still prevails.

According to another conflicting report, Geno offered to pay IK back but IK blew him off. That report made no sense but whatever.

I'm rolling with who gives a shit what happen. He out 6-10 weeks time to focus on moving on. We still have a season to focus on. Whoever at fault doesn't change anything about the Jets season.

he either doesn't understand what a sucker punch actually is, or he is intentionally using favorable language.

no one else interviewed is using that term, and other un-named sources have claimed it was not a sucker punch.
    are they lying?

I would also assume Brees, Manning or 'other QBs' would avoid putting themselves into that situation.

I assume someone else handles their finances.
