That should be played 30 minutes prior to start of series finale. Going to be a emotional roller coaster for me, my favorite show ever
REMEMBER MY NAME................. I saw a Facebook status that said: "Good luck Walt! Hope you beat cancer!" Made me laugh.
A few episodes back I said that there was really nothing that could happen that would make it a happy ending for me. Well I was wrong. I couldn't be more satisfied with how the show ended.
Mixed feelings about the ending. It was satisfying and entertaining, but it was maybe a little too neat. Ultimately, Walt wins and everything is OK (relatively speaking). I was reading that Vince Gilligan said there was another possible ending the writers were considering that everyone dies except Walt (he referred to it as the "kick-in-the-teeth" ending). I think that would have been truer to the show. I'm not unhappy though, I really enjoyed it.
^Sepinwall said the same thing and I see what you are saying but Walt didn't really "win". Him holding his daughter for one last time and only getting to see Jr from a distance and the cold goodbye with Skyler was pretty sad. This episode was him embracing his true self and being ok with it. Jesse looked happy to escape but there is no way he has a happy life after all this. It is pretty damn hard to end a series and I thought this was good. At least they didn't leave a ton of shit up to speculation or have a terrible ending like many good shows have had.
I agree. I'm not really complaining. I'd have liked something a bit darker, but I can be forgiving when it is well executed. I feel the same way about the LOST finale (yes I know lots of you hated it). That one wasn't the ending I would have chosen (nor was the last season story arc), but I was satisfied that it resolved the character storylines. I'm sure upon repeat viewings it will be even better.
L O S T was my favorite show. Then when I started watching Breaking Bad, I felt that it was just a little better than L O S T. Then after watching the BB Series finale, I flipped back to thinking L O S T was my favorite show and delivered the more satisfying finale. Definitely more emotional.
Breaking Bad season finales viewers (in millions) Year 1- 1.5 Year 2- 1.5 Year 3- 1.6 Year 4- 1.8 Year 5- 2.8 Year 6- 10.3
I'm just glad they tied up the majority of the loose ends - which is what a finale is suppose to do. I'm glad it ended the way it did - if you hated Walt, he redeemed himself in that episode, if you loved Walt, you have to like the fact that he died on his own terms not the cancer. Great ending to the series - I wish we knew more about Walt's back-story with the Grey Matters Technology but oh well.
I also think Breaking Bad is eligible for Season 5 part 2 emmy's next year. Hope they sweep them again
I was discussing this earlier. I am sure Bryan Cranston wins for best Actor, but best Supporting Actor is tough. Aaron Paul of course, is amazing, but Dean Norris really killed it these final episodes. Not sure who is more deserving. What do you guys think? I also feel the reason Aaron Paul and Jonathan Banks lost to that guy from Boardwalk Empire this year, is because they split votes, hurting each other.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MMbea5hfN2c Howard Stern said it best. It's hard to stop a show when it's as hot as it is.
