It had to be Gus or Mike the Fixer. I have a feeling that Gus set them up because he wanted them out of his territory. "...you have one minute" I'm about to watch the episode again.
It's hard to argue that the last 2 episodes haven't been better for the lack of Skyler crap that was rampant in the beginning of the season though. Great timing on getting rid of the twins too, had enough of their silent, supposed badassery against old ladies and unarmed mexicans trying to cross the border.
Come on, man. Those guys were complete badasses. It was pretty annoying that they were silent most of the time, but they didn't need to talk. They just fucked people up. The scene last week with one biting the apple and the other destroying the reservation cop with an axe was brilliant. Hank shot one of them about six or seven times and it didn't even phase him. I know he was wearing a bullet proof vest, but that would still hurt like shit. They are emotionless killing machines because Don Salamanca made them that way.
I've just never cared for that whole mute "monster" type bad guy. You've got to have a personality for anyone to give a fuck and the twins had nothing. That opening scene with them as kids was better than all of the adult "killing and blowing shit up" scenes put together.
last night was great, at the end when hank shot him, i felt like i was watching sports i was cheering lol. the beginning with the 2 brothers and the uncle was awesome. great f*ing episode, only thing that i didnt get was why Skyler didnt blast Walt for the fake call about Hanks wife, i mean its obvious that he mustve been where the number was obtained from.
**** Spoiler alert for those who haven't seen last night's ep. **** One thing that I wondered about...with Jesse joining Walt in the lab, isn't Walt concerned about all the DEA heat that Jesse has on him?? Wouldn't the DEA just tail him to Gus's Meth Lab?? Just sayin'....
They don't have personalities. They weren't allowed to have those. You're not supposed to give a fuck about them. You're supposed to care about the people that they're after. When those guys were in a scene, you never knew what they were going to do. "Finish him." - It's about the job...the kill. Did you think Anton Chigurh was a boring bad guy?
I guess I didn't really make myself clear. I usually like the "bad" guys but like Omar said a man's gotta have a code. We finally learned a little bit about what the twins were about and why they were that way but for me it was too little too late to redeem the characters. I'm not sure what would make you connect the twins and Chigurh either. Chigurh was a well written, well acted and all around fascinating character. To me a better comparison would be someone like Jason from Friday the 13th.
Chigurh barely spoke in No Country for Old Men, but when he did, everyone listened. When Anton was doing "business" he didn't say anything - much like the twins. I think the twins were fascinating - the worshiped the Saint of Death...pretty fucking awesome.
This episode was awesome. I can not wait till next week. Breaking Bad just keeps getting better and better imo. You could cut the tension with a knife after that phone call. Although I wouldn't have been pissed if Hank bought the farm. I loved the little window into the young Don Salamonca. HAHAHA what a prick. Favorite part was when Jesse said, " This isn't my get out of jail free card, he is " lol..............
The first scene in the hospital was fucking amazing. The "What Happens Next" speech by Jesse was one of the highlights of this entire series for me.
Wow. That was fucking great. My mouth was agape for most of the last scene, well into the credits. How about the monologues/speeches in that episode? Good stuff.
No Doubt! Jesse has been annoying and boring for most of this season, 'bout time the kid put his screentime to good use. Still annoying as fuck, but at least he has a purpose now. Can't wait to see how he F's up his new assignment.
