FALSE...he's not more talented than Andre Johnson, Anquan Boldin, Larry Fitzgerald, and Calvin Johnson. Derek Anderson was solid when Edwards had his breakout season. Kellen Winslow also had a huge year in 2007. He's produced mediocre numbers for a #1 wideout in 2 of the 3 years he's been a full-time starter. I know that he's talented and that he still has tons of upside, but he has a serious problem: he drops about 2 or 3 passes a game. I hope you're a Michigan fan or something...
Change of scenery does the body good. And besides who the hell wants to play in Cleveland in the first place and now that Mangina is there.
Trent Dilfer, Charlie Frye year 1 and 2. Anderson has a good year and Edwards is in the por bowl with a great year not solid. I'm not a Michigan fan at all, could care less about College ball.
1. I didn't use year one - I threw out his rookie year completely. 2. I didn't call Edwards' 2007 season "solid" - I said it was his breakout year. 3. Who care's who's playing QB? Andre Johnson had David Carr and Tony Banks throwing him the ball for 4 straight seasons. Anquan Boldin had Josh McCown and Jeff fuckin' Blake throwing him the ball before Kurt Warner. Calvin Johson has had Daunte Culpepper, Dan Orlovsky, Drew Henson, Jon Kitna, Drew Stanton, and JT O'Sullivan in TWO seasons. That's 6 different QBs in two seasons... Braylon Edwards isn't the best young receiver.
Edwards is a big talented receiver that teams need to double cover - that does wonders for any offense. The dropped balls is a fixable problem. It isn't something built in to receivers that is uncurable. Usually it is a concentration problem. Don't forget that Coles had the dropsies his first two seasons with the Jets. If the Jets can get him at any kind of a reasonable deal, they should pull the trigger immediately. He'd be the most talented receiver on this team since we drafted Keyshawn.
