you gotta be fuckin kidding me. This is not the first time Ben has been accused of this. Granted, I am very much a believer that there quite a few women out there that will fabricate stories in order to get in the spotlight or get paid, but how many athletes have had this happen twice within a short period of time? It's not by coincidence. He didn't learn his lesson the first time not to mention, your retarded point is moot anyways. Since the CBA dictates what the league can and can't do for DUI's anyways. It's not like "he" is getting a pass. Everyone in the same circumstances is treated the same way.
How about you wait till he is found guilty by a court of law before you suspend. What if he is acquitted? I agree he should be suspended but you need till wait till the justice system finds him guilty not the papers. So stop jumping to conclusions and let the justice system do its job.
So I know Stallworth was drunk and he did hit and kill someone. have you ever been on that road? It is a causeway like a 2 or 4 lane highway bridge over the bay. the bus stopped and the guy crossed the street in the MIDDLE yes the MIDDLE of the causeway. Is it right the guy is dead of course not. Is it correct Stallworth was punished of course. but did any of you stop to think why did he not get any real punishment jail time instead of probation. That was because the guy who was killed was also in the wrong here for Crossing basically a road with no stop lights or real traffic signals/pedestrian lanes in the MIDDLE. Fuck Justice was right there because if it was any of you that hit and killed that guy you would say the same thing that Stallworth's lawyers said in court. Who in there right mine would cross the causeway with out any pedestrian crosswalks in the MIDDLE of the god dam bridge. So please let justice do it course here. Suspend after he is found guilty not before. As far as Big Ben he has a history of this and the suspension was not for being found guilty it was for him putting the NFL in a bad spot light several times 3 i believe and ordered for counseling. If you ask me it will just teach not to get caught. It did not help one one bit
I'm sorry, but attitudes like this are just unforgivable. No he didn't kill anyone, but it is exactly how people get killed by drunk drivers. Too many people already treat it like its akin to not using a turn signal or something. No big if you don't get caught. That's just bullshit. The guy deserves all the punishment coming his way.
agreed, i think at the minimum a DUI should be a 10 year license suspension. How many people will drink and drive then? Even if your stance was simply a "oh he didnt kill anyone who gives a shit?" if you think you can drive safely with a .08 level fine whatever, hope you get caught the next time you pull out of a bar. Edwards was double that, thats stupid falling down unable to speak normally drunk, and then some. He was endangering all sorts of lives by doing what he did, not to mention the 2 teammates in his car
great news, i guess, this could send the wrong message. but i thought him not starting, but playing would be an option, but along w/a BIG fine.
Why is it so outrageous to you that someone would differentiate between driving drunk and killing someone? They are in fact two different things, one of which is far more serious than the other. Many people talk on their cell phones while driving, that's very dangerous and can result in killing someone. I'll bet you don't take issue with someone differentiating between talking on their cell phone while driving and killing someone because they were talking on their cell phone while driving though. Driving while tired is another one.
I don't think he will see the field for awhile. If we get and keep a lead we may not see much of him at all. They may just keep running for as long as they can.
I seriously hate on this kind of attitude. Why not just execute people for driving with any alcohol in their bodies? How about throwing poor people in jail because they are more likely to commit crimes? Unbelievable.
Me too. I will be seriously unhappy if the Jets try running the ball only, early on, and get stuffed. One of the great things Edwards brings to the team is a threat at receiver that forces D's to not put 8 or 9 in the box. With Clowney out there... Ugh.
It did yesterday in Manhatten where a 19 y.o chick was texting and rammed an asian guy on a scooter delivering food and now he's brain dead. We are making way too big a deal about the .16 crap. Anyone can blow a .16 with a few drinks in them. If there is no other "contaminants" to change the alcohol smell like cigarettes food, gum, etc. Not only that but a physically fit 200+ lbs person with a good metabolic rate can burn through it quite quickly. Hydrating with water can also accelerate that process. This is in the hands of the law. I'm sure its disappointing now that it is one of "our guys" that did this but... ...The Jets were able bring in a few high talent guys on the cheap because of that very reason - they are questionable character guys. Deal with it and be happy we have another 1st round pro-bowler on the team. Braylon is not MY role model, nor is he my children's role model.
He does deserve to be punished. Punishment should come from the New York State legal system. His punishment should probably look something like this. * A fine of no less than $500 and no more than $1,000. * Possible jail time of up to 1 year. * Loss of license for at least 6 months. Nothing about not being able to go to work for a certain amount of time there.
What the hell does suspending him from playing have to do with the crime he committed on the streets of Manhattan on his day off?
BULLSHIT. .16 is not "a few drinks" .16 is fucking DRUNK. BULLSHIT. and even if this was true, then that just means Edwards is a bigger moron for driving drunk when he supposedly could have "burned through it quite quickly" which is of course complete bullshit. Who cares if you think he is a role model or not? He is on probation and he was driving drunk. But because he is a football star you feel the need to make all sorts of BS excuses up for him to rationalize his stupid behavior. If was just another drunken idiot from jersey nobody would be kissing his butt and making up excuses for him.
No, he would be just another drunk idiot being dealt with by the courts. Oh wait a minute, that is what he is.
If he was just another drunken idiot nobody would be screaming for him to be suspended for a quarter of his working year either.
It isn't that they are two different things because they are. And as such they are punished differently. It's the cavalier attitude where people treat it as "oh, its no big deal because no one got hurt" that I have a problem with. That is such bullshit. Give a guy a gun, blindfold him and spin him around three times in a busy city block and have him fire off a few rounds. Sure, if he doesn't kill anyone - it's no big deal!! It isn't quite the same as talk/texting while driving, but I am in support of banning that and hitting people with heavy fines for it. It is dangerous, too. Driving anytime you are impaired, tired or otherwise is an issue.
Statistics actually show driving tired is just as bad as driving drunk and people drive tired EVERY DAY! Yet people dont go ape shit about it......
