this reminds me. all the other crap, and TWO FOUL BALLS THAT COULD HAVE BEEN CAUGHT are missed. then there was the milledge/alou debacle which turned into a triple. Then there was Alou being an all-around worthless POS. What, I mentioned that already? Well, it can't be said enough times.
no one even mentioned the phillies bludgeoned the marlins. animal cruelty. I look up at the scoreboard (have to really crane your neck if you're sitting in section 33) with a miserable game going on and I see Philly up 8-1. So we lose a game to both the braves and the phillies. I swear, if one of those asshole braves fans started taunting me on my way out, I would've lost it. I almost did when some son of a bitch dolphins/mets fans starting booing at my jersey. That's right, I rock my Jets jersey even at Mets game.
Yisman, were you at the game? I was in the loge, section 29. And yeah, it was a terrible game. I don't really wanna talk about it.
some of the other shit is starting to come back to me: 1)There was this puerto rican a row in front of me and one seat to the left attempting to block my sightline the whole game. he actually sat with his butt on the very edge of his seat the entire game with his head square in my vision area so I had to do all sorts of ridiculous things to be able to actually see the batter. 2)As mentioned, since it was a big game, it was packed. people all surrounding me so I was cramped. Can't really complain about that, though. That's what happens in a big game. 3)I'm convinced there was a horde of monkeys on top of us in the mezzanine. Couldn't have been human. They were whooping and throwing things down on us the whole game. When they weren't, they were banging on the metal as hard as they could so it made an incessant din. never heard a "Let's go Mets!" or "Jose, Jose, Jose!" from them the whole game. Just random whooping, various thrown objects, and banging. I just wonder how a group of monkeys managed to get into such a big game.
I was actually not far from you. Last section of the loge in RF. Section 33. Did you see what I mentioned a few posts ago? Franceour responded to us.
And there's no way he gets benched. That's really the worst part: As has been discussed, the team favors crappy, aging veterans way too often.
fucking alou... the first time, we're down 6-0 in the 4th to our hated rivals, we need to get something going. wright singles. delgado singles, and wright makes a nice play going for the extra base and beating the throw. fans are getting pumped up. alou comes up. Count is 2-0. Looking good. Hitter's count, so the worthless POS can wait for his pitch. I was actually hoping for a walk when he came up. After the second ball, I told my brother-in-law (I bought 2 tickets and took him with me) "Hmm, looks good. Maybe we'll have bases loaded for Green." and then... I just can't get over how bad he was. He made at least 3 bad plays in left field. I might be forgetting one.
to add insult to injury, did you see what the braves did in the 9th? They come into our stadium, embarrass us, taunt our fans, and then rub it in our faces by stealing our move in the 9th. Sorry, but loading the bases with no one out and stranding the runners is a Mets trademark. It reminds me of when they brought in Bong to face us after some minor leaguers were busted for pot.
Yep, I was there when he did that. I was actually right next to that really loud, drunk group of guys who started the Franceour chant. Him responding and tipping his cap was probably the highlight of the game.
haha, yeah. I was right near those guys. they were yelling at franceour on and off through the first few innings. like I said, the only positive of the night
I'll also throw in that I completely agree with you on Alou. Terrible and selfish in the field, and at bat it seems like he'll either get a hit or ground into a DP (for the record, that last AB of his woulda been a 3rd DP if anyone was on).
:breakdance: he has no trouble with the others, but he walks smoltz, a .114 hitter with ZERO walks on the season.
