Bingo. I truly feel like Holmes was the complement to Edwards, not the other way around. We functioned better on offense last year without Holmes those first four games to be honest. I think it might be a huge mistake giving him that huge contract. He has always been immature, arrogant, and when has he ever really been about any team? I don't know, Holmes pisses me off more then anyone on this team. Also.. Side note. Am I the only person that hates it when he gets a first down? Only because I have to watch his gay drama filled football point and drop thing that he does? It's fucking stupid.. Ok, I'm done ranting.
I dont give a shit at this point. If hes doing his gay ass little point that means we are moving the chains and with Schotty as our OC and the shitty offense, we gotta just take what we can get
Brandon Moore is upset about these comments because they're true. Our interior run blocking has been god awful this season.
I agree also but Rex is the one STILL saying he doesn't put a muzzle on anybody and that Mason wasn't traded because of what he said after the Baltimore game,so IMO this is on Rex and even though Holmes should know better, this is the house that Rex built.
This pretty much kills the "Yeah but Holmes is right!" crowd. No shit he was right but now we have locker room chaos on our hands. Giving Holmes 50 mil and the captaincy was a mistake.
I do find it telling that this came from Moore, the one guy who's said like 5 words since he got here before today. Rex needs to put this shit in check already.
You'd be upset too if you were busting your ass to do a job and got thrown under the bus by a guy that's supposed to be your teammate just because HE's upset that HE's not getting his numbers. And Moore happens to be right, it's not the captain's job to take other positions to task...not unless they're jaking it on the field or not paying attention in meetings, things like that. I knew they'd pay for mealy-mouthing the Mason trade, I just didn't think it would be this soon. They should have just admitted a change needed to be made and not tried to get by with a flimsy excuse. Rex just didn't want to ruin the image he's cultivated of accepting everyone's personality.
There's a difference between jaking it and just plain ol' sucking. Slauson sucks, Wayne Hunter sucks, Ducasse really sucks and Colin Baxter sucks. Does that mean they're not trying? No, except maybe in the case of Ducasse. Is Mangold jaking it because he missed two weeks? He's as tough as they come, if he was hurt bad enough to miss two weeks then other guys might have missed more time. If you want to blame anyone for the current state of our OL blame our brilliant GM, who for the second time in the last few years has allowed it to decay. Selfish 'leadership' ain't doing anything to help that. Was Sanchez jaking it two years ago when he had 25 turnovers? No, and did the defense whine about him in the press? No. So you can be damn sure Sanchez isn't going to whine about the defense letting every back under the sun go for 150+ this year...that's what being a leader and a teammate is all about. Having each other's back publicly.
Good light a fire under the offensive line they have been playing like dog shit Moore included. Hunter has been the obvious weakness but 1 hole doesnt make everyone not named Nick Mangold get pushed back the way they have. Moore and Brick while not terrible are not playing as well as they did last year. The Pats game was better but thats against a terrible pass rush. If you are going to produce the way you are expect to be called out. Of course itd be better if it stayed in house but I hope they are pissed because they should be.
I think this current lockerroom crap is on Rex. Clearly he has lost the ear of the players - they aren't listening to him anymore. They did listen, but they lost 3 games listening to him promising that ' we can fix this'. He didn't.
I wouldnt say the lockerroom as a whole. The defense is fine and where it should be. They had a problem in Oakland and they came back and fixed it. They played great against Balt and good in the first half against the pats. Struggled a bit in the 4th quarter and could not get off the field. Still the D is not what worries me. The O line has played like dog shit and is making everyone else look bad. All the public criticism in the world hurting their feelings cant make them play any worse.
Brandon Moore had serious hip surgery in the off season. He's not up to speed yet. Slauson does NOT suck. He played well last season. Hunter got off to a bad start and is coming back, playing a little better in each game. The line was not helped by the lack of OTA's because of the lock-out If the line is still playing at the level it is now at the end of the season, then this frenzy of criticism will be justified. Until then, everyone should STFU!!!!!!!!
I'm not mad at Holmes for this at all. Moore and the rest of the o-line sans Nick Mangold & Brick aren't doing shit and they need to step it the fuck up. If Moore wanted to be a true leader he would have learned the protection calls and he wouldn't have retorted back at the media feigning ignorance about the recent line performances. The line is playing like crap right now, we can't run and Sanchez was getting hit like a pinata. Schottenheimer should be on Callahan's ass about this shit an not acting like everything is a-ok. This team can't execute on offense at all and now the line is regressing. How the fuck can you keep a job when you're utterly failing at doing anything right? This falls on Rex too. \ I think Rex needs to talk less about how our offense is doing alright and instead show us some results on gameday. Regardless it's hard when you have the worst offensive coordinator around in the most rigid system in the NFL outside of Mike Martz.
