As do I. I'm also a Reds fan and their FO has been insanely active. It hasn't always worked out but at least they aren't just sitting around doing nothing.
This would be a big pick-up. He is a good receiver. I just hope we don't give up our 2nd rounder from washington.
The Pats are much smarter than this. McCareins has been around long enough for Belichick to have noticed how he plays. Looks terrific every year in camp and preseason, then greatly disappoints when it counts. No separation (zero... none) and a gross inability (or unwillingness) to extend himself for anything that's not headed directly for his numbers. Is frequently seen extending one arm in the direction of the pass instead of diving or leaping for it to make the catch. We can get something for McCareins, but I seriously doubt it's going to be from NE.
Wow this is a huge surprise. I cannot say I expected this at all... Mack pointed out that we have two 2nd rounders...I'd part with it, Coles as a #2 would thrive so much.
I mean, McCareins got a 2. TO got a 2. I'd much rather have Branch over either one of them. Hell, Coles got the 13th pick overall, and we were all pissed about that. Branch is better than Coles is. And a WR corps of Coles, Branch, Cotchery, Dwight, B Smith is very good, assuming we deal McCareins for another late round pick.
Branch is so overrated. He's 5'9 and a burner (just Like Moss). With our noodle-armed QB, we won't be able to take advantage of his skills. Giving up a 2nd, IMO, is HORRIBLE, as we have a shot at earning the #1 pick this year. I hope we traded Washington's 2nd and not ours, if it is in fact a 2nd.
I disagree, there were other ways that we could've gotten moss the ball last year. Short passes and give him the chance for a run after the catch. We never did that with moss. But im sure we would if we got branch.
The Skins' 2 is pretty easy to part iwth since it'll just be like we never had it at all, but still, I don't know that we shohuld spend that on a WR. I mean, we have much more important holes to fill.
I agree. A 2nd for Branch seems too high. He had a career year last year with 5 TDs. If I'm giving up a second round pick I want more return than 5TDs. How about Mcareins and a 6th?
Chad's arm is as strong as Brunell's, and look what Moss did. And YOU DON'T PLAY FOR A DRAFT PICK. Ugh. I get so angry when I hear people say that before the season starts.
I don't think this would be a good move at all. We're talking about giving away a first day draft pick for a mediocre to slightly above average receiver (sound famaliar?). The guy played with arguably the best QB in the league and never put up over 1000 yards receiving. If we were completely awful at the receiver position and didn't have bigger needs, maybe I'd agree with this, but how much better would this really make our offense? I completely disagree with this and hope it doesn't happen.
We ARE completely awful at receiver. We may have bigger needs at RB, but we can't do anything about that right now. You upgrade everything one at a time. And this would be an upgrade.
It makes the defense a ton better. Having seen Branch and Coles both play, Branch is a better receiver. And he did have 998 yards last year, so saying he's never had 1000 is true, but slightly misleading.
From the sound of Coles complaining about how hard training camp was, I would not be shocked if he is traded with a late pick for Branch. Mangini might be fed up with him and not want him to infect the rest of the clubhouse with his poor attitude. If he can't take a Mangini's camp the pats may not want him.
