The more I think about what has transpired the past 24 hours plus. The more I think of the sheer brillance showed by Tangini to get involved, and possibly try and rev up some interest by other teams and even start a bidding war. Whether Tangini was working in cahoots with Chayut i.e. we both knew there was no general interest in a trade, 6mil a year? Come on... we would just help each other with the eventual goal of getting Branch out of NE. At this point it's completely irrelevant.

What is relevant is that the Patriots had a disgruntled number 1 receiver who wanted out of NE, now they have a cancer.

Something about feeding his family, or respect... or some such nonsense.

    Money!

Wants a new contract as he has only 1 yr remaining.... so yes, cash cash cash. Can't blame him.

been saying this since the rumor, and it's good strategy.. NE signs Branch, and bam, it hurts their cap. They deal him, and he's gone for this year.

But as Bradys#1 WR surely, NE should be trying to tie him down. they've seen their team and coaching staff ripped apart , I don't get it. Be interested in DWs thoughts on this.

The Patriots basically dropped their drawers and said ... well - you know.

This guy is really going all out on the pain in the ass train. Do we really want the John Abraham of WR's?

even if we dont get branch, we have deffinetly learned something about our new front office. We are not afraid to make moves. I mean look at yesterday. Trade jolley to the bucs and brooks to the vikings. Turned around and traded for a TE from dallas, and claimed a reveiver off waivers. Next day we are talking about making a deal for deion on branch.

The biggest thing to me was Tannenbaum NOT backing down from his 1st round demand of John Abraham.

He got his 1st rounder and kept a tight hold and didn't budge...

Was that a misnomer? I can't help lining up like all the other sheep. Typing out their full names takes away precious porno time.

however, if they trade the first round pick for him, we've learned they're reckless and have inconsitent philosophies. why trade a high pick for deon branch yet draft "meat and potatoes" instead of trading up for bush or going for lienart...

i'd love to see branch in a jets uniform, but I HOPE its not for the price of even a second round pick.

'Tangini'. It's the dumbest name combo ever.
