I agree completely. The McCareins bashing has reched mob mentality levels. He's not a bad receiver. He had a bad season last year, and nobody can hold that against him. The entire O was awful last year. The QB and OL situations had a ton to do with that. In fact, they had EVERYTHING to do with that. As for Branch, he's simply the product of the system, and of having Brady throwing him the ball. He has Alvin Harper written all over him as a member of the Jets.
Yeah Branch isnt that much better than McCariens, sure whatever dude. Deion Branch would never lose his job to Jerricho Cotchery thats for damn sure. Branch is a friggin superbowl MVP and a big play, big game WR. Branch is young and and up and coming superstar in the making, McCariens has a chance of being cut from a team thats fresh off a 4-12 season. Yeah good call buddy.
You're basing everything on stats. Look at the systems. Branch is in one that is WR friendly. Our offensive system was FB friendly. Big difference there. Also, it's easier to shine on a team on prime time every week. The Pats have other weapons. McCareins played with a CFL calibur QB last yr. You saw what it did to Coles' numbers, and he's a pro bowler from the year before. Think something through before you speak. I could be wrong, but at least present something logical. Branch has not even had a 1000 y d season, has he? (I know McCareins hasn't either)
I'm at an airport in San Antonio reading this...yikes. Please take him and give us some of your low round picks!! :drunk:
telling me not to base it on stats, when i never once said anything about stats and you go and bring in the stat argument with the 1000 yd arguement; well for the record he's had a 998 yd season, but I guess thats 2 yds short of a 1000, he must suck. fact is McCariens has had one big play in his whole damn career, and it occurred AGAINST the Jets.
Honestly, are you just going to bitch about every move the new FO makes? McCareins sucks compared to Branch. Just deal with reality.
Again, misquoted. Never said I was HIGH on McCareins. Just said I think if McCareins/Branch had changed places the past 2 yrs, I bet our opinions would be different.
No.. Ilike this front office. Bollinger deal was a thing of genius. If they were going to cut Jolley, that deal was awesome too. I just like to see people think outside of the statbook. That's all, and most of you just won't do it.
Well that settles it for me, it's becoming painfully obvious (at least to me) that we don't [truly] want a damn thing to do with any Branch trade, and are just are just acting as enablers for Branch to get him out of New England and thus weaken a divsional rival.
See I wouldn't be part of the "Burn JMac Mob" except that last year, his poor play was not so much a product of the poor offense, as his lackadaisical attitude. Too many times last year he had a ball hit him in the numbers, and he couldn't hold on. Too many times besides that balls hit both hands, and while they would have been somewhat tough catches, if you get two on the ball, you have to haul it in. If this didn't tell you he is lazy, then the fact that he spent the first day of camp on a bike should. It's not that he isn't talented. It's that he isn't motivated. Ability-wise, he is at least a quality 2 in the league. The problem, as with any player, if you don't have the drive to use your ability, it is worthless. Look at TO. Quite possibly the most talented WR to ever play in the NFL. His attitude sucks though, and his ability to alienate everyone around him manages to drop his value.
