screw that....bob kraft can kiss Tangini's ass.

i wouldn't give up 2 1st rounders for any one. especially, considering the Jets will most likely be drafting in the top 5 overall next year.

if deion branch can't have a 1000 yard season with Tom Brady throwing him the ball, how he is going to look with Chad lobbing knuckleballs at him?

No one at this point is worth two first rounders given our situation, let alone Deion Branch, who's not worth one.

The Pats know they aren't getting 2 #1s.

This is almost as much fun as the old Parcells/Kraft/Belichick wars... Nah, actually it's not.

I trust Tannenbaum enough to say this is not going to happen, not even for one 1st Rounder. It isn't exactly a good fit here anyway... not this year and not with this starting QB.

Best case scenario for the Jets is no trade takes place, Branch sits out the 10 games, becomes a FA and signs with the Jets. I think Branch is an excellent WR but there is absolutely no point overpaying for anyone at this point of the rebuilding process.

imagine trading a 1st rounder to the Pats (for Branch), a pick which ends up becoming Brady Quinn....

    Tangini would be crucified.

Agreed. If they dont want J-Mac and a 2nd rounder, then screw it.

The 2 first rounders should not even be part of the discussion. Noone is giving up One first rounder let alone two for him.

I agree. Maybe that's what the Jets are trying to accomplish. Show Branch the money without actually giving it to him and thus driving up the price for the Pats.

i would offer mccareins but no pick. the Jets have all the leverage here.

the pats obviously don't want to pay him, so they're desperate to get whatever they can. They're deadlocked. To give up a pick simply for the right to overpay for a slightly-above-average receiver borderrs on insanity...

If thats the case it sems that if the pats want ANY compensation they need to make a trade now.
