a pinched nerve does not affect things like range of motion or muscle strength. It does not affect decisionmaking. I don't buy that pain leads inexorably to mental mistakes. Sanchez's blind side was Ferguson, not Hunter. Yeah Ferguson did not have a great year last year, but I didn't see most of Sanchez's problems coming from blind side pressure.
Recommend taking a look at thejetsblog.com interesting tidbit about Sanchez and why he maybe locking down on WRs. You wouldn't believe the culprit Sent from my ADR6300 using Tapatalk 2
But more than half the time, it did. Our line played poorly we know that. But claiming a pinched nerve in the NECK does not affect the QB play is absolutely ludicrous. Are you trying to tell me it's not limiting to feel pain every time you turn your head??? Again, I CLEARLY explained that it's not the pain itself, but the thought of the pain that does it, and it's easier to deal with for vets than QBs that are still learning. But alas, you'll probably just ignore that and continue to pretend that Sanchez wasn't affected by it, WHEN HE CLEARLY WAS AFFECTED ON THE FIELD IF YOU WATCHED HIM during that poor stretch. Look at his footwork, everything was much different earlier in the season, and that's the bottom line. My point still stands.
I never said it had NO effect. But you are making it into some huge factor. It wasn't, or shouldn't have been. Just more Sanchez Homer excusemaking. Give me a break.
I doubt you ever played a down in your life. A pinched nerve can be debilitating he applauded for gutting it out. Are really arguing it should have no effect? Schotty or not Sanchez struggled down the stretch last season after showing great signs of improvement early in the season. He has to soldier the blame injury or not bad OC or not. Schotty IMO was a bad play caller and struggled getting his QB into a rhythm. He has no proven track record of success time to move on. We will see what Sporano can do with a limited track record of success as a play caller at least he has had success as a play caller Schotty did not. Schotty is getting another chance in St. Louis we will see how he does. As a Jets fan I will be rooting for Sanchez to do well and not pointing out every flaw and defending a coach that no longer coaches for my team. Sanchez struggled what third QB does not? How did Freeman play this year how did Matty ice progress? QB in the NFL takes time to learn we are impatient fans,i get it, let this kid at least have is fourth season which is normally a big step-up year for QBs. Did I miss somewhere where Sanchez has showed no signs he can be a very good NFL QB? Did we forget he only played one year in college? Tannehill will struggle for the exact same reasons he is not as polished coming out of school as other multiple yer starters. If he plays this upcoming season like he played down the stretch last season I will be the first calling for his head but until that time we have a lot of reason as Jets fans that Sanchez is on the cusp. He did throw 28 TDs last year.
WHiner newbies like yourself don't deserive a response. Other than to point out I posted in the post immediately before your screed that I never said it had no effect. It's just you excusemaking homers overrate it.
It's 100x better than any other Jets related news site, the Bent guy there does some excellent research and doesn't provide a lot of bias in his articles. To me he's the best Jets beat writer out right now - and I don't see Adam Schein and Ray Lucas writing articles on that website either. Pretty sure it's more-so freelance than SNY - could be wrong
Sanchez was shell shocked by the end of the last season. It wasn't just the injury, just Schotty, just the oline, or just the receiver chemistry it was all those factors rolled into one, and it affected his play. I'm not dropping excuses, I'm dropping facts. With that said he's still a newb, and needs to deal better with that kind of pressure, no doubt, but he's still only 3 years deep.
Never good to solely blame the OC and give the QB a free pass like nothing was his fault. Coaches coach and players have to execute. Plain and simple. Mark made too many mistakes. 26 turnovers; you cannot put all that at the feet of Brian. Mark has to be accountable. Until they signed Tebow, I did not feel Mark was acknowledging his flaws; even the extension, Mark seemed to act like "This means I am a leader". No, your play on the field makes you a leader as well as how much your teammates respect you. Clearly, there was a disconnect between Holmes and Sanchez. But maybe, Holmes was the most outwardly honest player on the team about his frustrations that were at the boiling point? Just saying.
Stinger doesn't affect the performance at all. Repeated beatings are the best way to bring the inner beast out of any aspring QB. Watch Tebow take massive hit after hit - HE WILL PERFORM LIKE A HALL OF A FAMER!
you feel (at times, acute) pain when the signal runs through the pinched nerve. but that is not supposed to affect the performance, right?
LOL Also that was the beggining issue of Peyton Mannings problems... I know I had pinch nerves in my neck going in to my arm called Cervical Radiculopathy. They give you physical therapy if minor, then Epidural Steroid shot (thats what Amare Stoudemire of the Knicks recently got before the playoffs). If the therapy and Steroids dont help then he will need surgery called(acdf is most coomon) Fusion. The neck def bothered him, but having a weak line, and at times unmotivated receiveres also hurt not just poor decisions.
