Usually No. But it depends on the pattern and the pressure. MarkyMark posted an 86 QBR today. Now we know he's not very accurate. But that's OVER Penny's average, under this OC.
There wasn't any pressure and the patterns were fine. He overthrew a wide open Holmes and I believe it was Keller on a 2nd and 1...Im sure there were others but those 2 stuck in my mind...I could care less what Chad's anything were..We're talking about the Jets QB in 2011. The plays are there if this QB could just execute and complete passes a NFL QB is supposed to make on a consistent basis.
What was that first drive of the 4th quarter about? Green picks up a dominant 9 and it's 2nd and 1 so we throw twice?
That was definitely a head-scratcher but I thought Schotty called a better game than usual, other than all the fucking direct snaps. If you're gonna do that, at least pass it once or twice - it's just like what they used to do with B. Smith - everyone in the world knows what's coming before the ball is even snapped.
You are a fine example of why most JETS fans get a bad name. You speak like you know exactly whats going on on the jets sideline from your living room couch. If u watched Rex's presser after the game instead of just blurting out what ur simple football mind says you would KNOW that Rex wanted to run some Wildcat plays this week. So those were Rex's calls. Shotty was just doing what his Head Coach asked. So Shhhhh.
YOu mean the one where Sanchez overthrew a wideopen Keller by 3 feet and would have gone for 20 yards? Yeah, let's blame the coaching on that... Now if the Jets ran it there and lost a yard or fumbled people would be here saying damn conservative coaching, throw it...guaranteed!!!!
I'm gonna about go 50/50 playcalling to QB mistakes today 60/40 even just so you guys don't lose your shit. Schotty killed a few drives with bad situational football but Mark killed some good playcalls with terrible passes.
That second and 1 call had Keller wide open for a big game. But you are right it was an awful call bc Schotty should have known that our qb would never be able to make that throw.
It was the right time to play the percentages and the chances of gaining 1 yard on the ground with 2 attempts was a lot higher than tossing it around.
Yea it was definitely a combination of the 2. When it was 2nd and 1 after the 9 yard Greene run and we threw it twice I thought we should have ran it. Although on 2nd down it was an awful throw to Keller where he was wide open and was a play that absolutely needed to be made. People like to complain Schotty is to predictable and he went against what was predictable set us up in a position to be successful and Mark just made a terrible throw.
Yeah, and it's fine, but there is a time to use it. You shouldn't use it when Mark and the offense is on a rhythm. That's all I meant. Schotty is shitty, end of story.
Ummm. Yes. When we're BEHIND the oc is forced to call pass oriented formations and plays. Thoowing out of the I early is not the same thing.
Yeah, I get that part, but there are times to revert to the wildcat, and when our O is on a roll, you don't mess up the rhythm and go wildcat.
Maybe the Jets won't be behind as much if the QB executes and completes passes to wide open receivers.
