We have more salient needs on OL. Becton is probably gone after this year. AVT is out, Fant is in contract year so I say Tunsil is a better trade option.
I doubt Becton is gone. He likely will end up competing with Mitchel or someone else for the RT job next year with who knows competing for the LT job. Could be Browne, a Fant resigning, a FA or even a draft pick. I would expect a lot of competition at both spots. But would expect Becton to win the RT job, come back in the type of shape he was at camp this year, have an even bigger chip on his shoulder and look as dominant as he did in camp this year. Even though Becton ended up getting the more serious surgery this time that better protects against future injury unlike his surgery last year I would expect JD to protect himself and have many many viable options at both tackle spots.
JFM is half superstar, half dumbass. But the superstar part is worth it. Lots of people remember Leon Lett for getting that ball knocked out of his hand showboating in the Super Bowl and knocking the ball through the back of the endzone during a snowy Thanksgiving game against Miami, but the guy was an absolute beast and a big part of the dominating defense through that whole dynasty run. Sometimes you have to put up with dumbass plays from players with elite ability.
This would be the ideal trade for me. Get rid of the distraction and bolster a weakness at premium position. If we can give Moore for a top OL it would be phenomenal. That's one position which JD seems to be unable to find a solution for several years and two QBs now, whether it is injury, signing guys who then underperform, etc... And the position is so critical, which greatly impact QB play. Perhaps JD is blowing smoke up people's asses with Chubb, while in reality trying to secure Oline. Well, one can hope...
JD calls about anyone to see what the price is and that’s why he makes great trades. Calling and talking doesn’t mean we were ever going to actually do it for a first
It was a bullshit call anyway. Phantom Bill Belichick favorable call, go figure. People should get off JFM's back
I don’t see it happening besides the Jets need that first round pick next year. They are not a finished product. They need another solid offseason ….
(14) Adam Schefter on Twitter: "Another big trade: Denver is dealing LB Bradley Chubb to the Dolphins for a package that includes the 2023 first-round pick that Miami acquired from San Francisco, sources tell ESPN. https://t.co/lmkIzrQK5h" / Twitter
Just hearing on NFL Radio that Miami just traded for Chubb gave up a first round pick next year maybe more but that’s all they said so far
For a first rounder in 2023 (49ers pick) Fourth rounder in 2024 and Chase Edmonds Dolphins are loading up to make a legit run for the Super Bowl.
He is a Miami dolphin now so he will be terrorizing ZW who can’t make an NFL read for at least the near future
