I'm just shocked Cimini is still covering the Jets. by the time you get to his seniority and experience level you've usually managed to wangle a better assignment. Think about what it's like to cover this team year in and year out. All the drama is negative with a positive story about once every 4 or 5 years to go along with the every year gloom. Here's the Jets of the last few regimes as an example:

1994 - Pete Carroll in - fresh face, new ideas, Pete Carroll out whipped by the job.
1995 - Whatshisface in - why did they hire this guy? Oh well, fresh face, new ideas...
1996 - Jet's collapse as whatshiface gets run out of town, SOJ.
1997 - Bill Parcells IN! - ugly face, great ideas, Jet's rise from the dead.
1998 - Jet's to the AFC championship game!
1999 - Jet's superbowl year! - Vinny down, season over, Parcells starts edging towards the exit.
2000 - Keyshawn gone, Belichik gone, Groh drafts 4, Jet's fall down, Parcells leaves, Groh forced out, restart...
2001 - Hermway in - fresh face, new ideas, Jets playoffs and out fast.
2002 - Vinny out, Chad in, huge run into the playoffs, Raiders suck.
2003 - Coles gone, Thomas gone, huge trade for the bowling ball with knives, Chad hurt, season over.
2004 - One more big year for Curtis, Donnie Henderson is the man, Jets playoffs, Herm is not the man.
2005 - Jet's superbowl season! Chad hurt, Bradway sucks, Jet's collapse...
2006 - Tangini in - fresh faces, new ideas, Jet's playoffs and out fast.
2007 - Mangini sucks, Jet's QB's suck, everything sucks, Jet's collapse...
2008 - Favre in! Jet's superbowl season! Favre collapses, Jet's collapse...
2009 - Rex Ryan IN! Fresh faces, new ideas. Sanchez IN! ...

Can't you see how a beat writer would have sex with his dead mother to get away from this? I'm just surprised Cimini is still around.
