But it won’t change the fact we will be in the qb market. I would however pay top dollar for a recording of that phone call.
Please don't let the Pats rest their starters. If that's the case we may NEED Hackenberg to retain our draft position, even though Petty already sucks.
Am I the only one who doesn't care if McCown, Petty and Hackenberg all go away as soon as the permutations of contract timing are realized?
I don't care if any or all leave what I am concerned with is the guys that are choosing who will be brought in to replace them,,,I have very little if any faith in Mac he lost me a while aho
how is it setting him up for failure? Hack's been carrying a clipboard for 2 damn seasons. babied, coddled, working on basic fundamentals while collecting a hefty check and watching his team lose most weeks. At some point he's gotta play. Here you have a meaningless week 17 game where it seriously doesn't matter if he throws 4 td passes or 4 interceptions. expectations are at its lowest point; considering its going against belicheck and the QB ahead of him on the depth chart really sucks anyway. its the perfect time to play him. -- my guess is Hack goes out there, they hand it off every time on 1st and 2nd down then he takes one quick read downfield before throwing a shaky/inaccurate dumpoff pass all game on 3rd down. AKA.. .the same as Bryce Petty
Wasn't that tough to predict, but this has of course now been confirmed. Sometimes I really hate it when I'm right.
I hope Petty gets a 24 hour flu bug on Sunday morning, and Hack plays the whole game. If it "ruins" him to play, all we will have lost is a 2nd round pick. I hope Hack torches the NE 2nd string defense for 400 yards, 5 TD's and we win 49-3. I hope his confidence is elevated and he becomes our FQB for the next 17 years.
I hope they pull Petty as quickly as possible and get Hack as much time as they can in the game. Also hoping that Morton just lets it rip and gives Hack an aggressive gameplan. I mean, seriously, the Pats are going to beat us if we do the same things we've been doing since Petty took over (run, run, pass, punt), so why not let the kid go out there and chuck the ball around a bit.
I mean so what if he throws 10 picks in one game. He was brought here to throw the damn ball, as was Petty. No more running on 1st and 2nd. Throw it 3 times then punt. Let NE score on their 1st play every drive. I want to see these young QB's play QB, not the middle man in the running game.
Mac and Bowles scammed us and the owners imo...but it is what it is Bowles has his security blanket now..so of course he is playing Hack The Hack family should be happy..got a good Xmas present...and yes let him throw the ball all over the place Going forward I will refer to Toilet as "Marvin" because that's all all of us can expect from him..another Marvin Lewis along with Mr Mediocre MM Happy NY YEAR..SOJs
That and/or Petty's still fighting the injury he suffered early in the Charger game. They might as well just insert Hackenberg for the last play or two, like the ending of Rudy. They can carry him off the field when he completes a screen pass and finishes his career 1-1 in a 34-10 loss.
He ain't that type of QB. What's he won? What's Washington won? Would he be a upgrade over what we've had? No doubt about it still that doesn't mean he's worth $30 million per year. If he is that type of QB Washington would pay him they drafted him, they've watched him every day since. I'd do the make them a offer they can't refuse to Indianapolis for Luck.
