Oh gimmie a break, those were close strikes. Not blatant base running OUTS. The 1st inning Rapuano made a bad call with Crisp...Balls and strikes I don't argue.
The calls the Red Sox were complaining about were good calls. And the first pitch of some AB Rivera threw was clearly a strike but called a ball. Then the next pitch looked like a ball and was called a strike. Oh well.
What I should say is...I'd argue balls and strikes, but not the point where i'd argue somebody else on it, especially close calls. I argue blown calls on the basepaths, homeruns, balls that are trapped...etc.
C'mon Ecko. Last night everyone was crying because the ump was smiling. And today is some big joke????
Was I saying it was a joke? The 1st inning pickoff on Crisp was a bad call, he should of been ruled safe. Balls and strikes? Whatever, I wasn't complaining about the ump's strike zone last night...
9.5 back, if the Yankees can get to around 6 or 7 after the early June series, I think the team can still fight for the East Crown.
I didn't say he was right. All I'm saying is he really enjoyed making those calls in the ninth. The calls were not necessarily good though. Arguing definitely hurt the Sox though. They pissed him off, and he was enjoying calling them out. That grin after the last out was totally inappropriate, but humorous.
It's fair, you can call me out on this one. You know you want to. Some calls definitely went the Yankees way last night, and like I said yesterday, it's still not right. Crisp was clearly safe early. The pitches were called poorly in the ninth. I know there were a couple other calls during the calls that screwed the Sox. I never agree with an ump controlling the game. I was simply pointing out the humor in how the ump called the ninth. He was blatantly disregarding fairness, and laughing about it. Inappropriate, but funny. We're still in this thing. Now we need to start picking up wins against lesser competition. LAA is going to be an interesting series. We have to at least take the series, if not a sweep. If the bats can keep up what they did in games 1 and 3 against other teams, we're in very good shape. Come on Yanks! Let's get back in crontrol of this thing!
I did I quoted you  ... it's all good though... I knew there was no way it would be easy and that the Yankees weren't going anywhere....I still think A-Rod is a fraud though
obviously last night was big, we couldn't afford to lose another game. Now let's tak this 3 of 4 and tun it into 10 of 12, 15 of 20 and get back into this thing.
I think Pettite thrives under the New York lights. I really do. Just like Jeter. Some players can't handle it, but I think Pettite is one who can, and he likes it.
Thankfully Joe resisted that huge urge to pull pettite in the 6th. You know he was dying to. Guidry must have tied his shoes together.
