SO do you put Arod as SS, 3b, or 2nd?

Not sure you can really argue with the historical perspective of the Mets future.

You don't understand it, that's ok. If you listen to what is important to him you would. And it's not just the money.

How do I know? I know because I read that everywhere all the time. How do you not know it? It's not a secret.

He won't go to the Cubs either. He might have considered it at the beginning of the year but now it looks like Pinella has already had enough of that team.

You put him at 3rd. Reyes is the best SS in the game, he isn't moving again. Wright has already said he would have no problem changing positions for ARod and would have no problem at 1st or 2nd. Sign me up, a nucleus of Wright, Reyes, Beltran & Arod keeps the Mets contenders for the next 5 years at least..

With that said, I would say Arod reups with the Yanks before opting out, Yank fans better hope he does..

PLEASE! PLEASE! I hope the Mets are dumb enough to spend $30 mil a year for ARod which will force Wrigth or reyes to switch positions. have the Mets learned anything watching ARod thelast 4 years?

This makes no sense. How can there be zero chance he plays for one of the few teams that can afford him? Kansas City...Pittsburgh....those would be your "zero chance" teams. Mets are in play here. Scott Boras in da house. C'mon, Scotty, bring us A-Rod this time! I want him. Yes, I've seen the whole saga. I also saw that homer in Tampa the other night. That was a laser beam. :)

I just happened to switch to the game during a commercial and....BOOM! That was a ridiculous homer. Funny how the Yankee fan with the glove jumped and it went over his head. He thought he had it the whole way,
    that guy.

Sure I have, that Arod is a quality offensive player, and if we ever got Arod we would move Wright, he even said himself that he would volunteer his spot. However I have learned from the Yankees and other examples is that pitching is more important than offense and we need to address replacing Glavine and El Duque before considering a bat

You're the reason people hate the Yankees.

You hit it. It was today. Now the Boras insiders are saying the Red Sox will make a significant push to sign him if he ops out. Of course that would come as no surprise to anybody. Any team with the money except the Yankees will make a push if he opts out.

Bingo. Pitching is top priority. If we happen to have 30 million burning a hole in the Wilpon's pockets after the rotation is plugged, A-Rod's more than welcome to join the party.

Exactly, youhave enouhg offense. If you spent $30 mil on pitching rather than 1 offensive player you'd be in great position to win a WS.

Right, because pitching has totally been the problem with the Mets this year and not the offense. The buying out of Delgado would be the big hurdle because he would make alot of money next year.

Besides, I'd much rather get the real deal in A-Rod then pursue a trade or two for a pitcher then grossly overspend on some mediocre FA pitcher then pass on A-Rod because they "can't afford it".

Well that is the only condition is that we actually will improve our pitching staff with arms available, however I am not content on our offense as is, we will need to improve our offense as well during the offseason

Your offense is fine, you will not win the NL pennant or a WS w/ this pitching. Offenses go through slumps, you couldn't have expected things to be as easy this year as it was last year.

The pitching has been very good this year and the offense has struggled. Try actually watching the games or looking at the numbers instead of repeating the same nonsense that was said about the team at the beginning of the year.

As for securing pitching for next year, I just mean replacing Glavine and Hernandez's spots.
