You are terribly underestimating him. He IS exactly the monster #1 WR you are looking for. Obviously this is just subjective, so we may have to agree to disagree.

The one thing that is unfair about your post is comparing him to Cotchery. Cotchery is a nice WR, but let's be honest, he's a talented possession receiver who makes a great number #2 on a championship caliber offense. He doesn't have the break away speed or the overall athleticism to be a game-breaking, deep threat like Boldin. Boldin is a true number #1 because he has the speed and ball skills to be a deep threat, while still possessing the consistent hands and toughness to go over the middle and dominate as a possession receiver.

To be fair, I'll add that I'm a little biased towards Boldin. I gained a tremendous amount of respect for him after he came back from that devastating hit he received at the hands of Eric Smith. That showed me a lot of toughness and a tremendous competitve drive to play football. Also, he was the quickest player to 400 catches in NFL history. He has caught 100 passes twice in his career already and already has 4 seasons with at least 83 catches, 1,000 yards receiving, and 7+ touchdowns. (2 of those 4 seasons he had over 100 catches) That's impressive. And again, he's only 28 years old and will turn 29 in early October of next season. He's in his prime.

check out his numbers for yourself: http://www.nfl.com/players/anquanboldin/profile?id=BOL283010

No offense to Cotchery who is a very good player . . . but he's not in Boldin's league.

His speed has always been a question, I guess that is why he fell to the second round. But he is so physical and a big target, so it can be an offset. There just aren't too many Calvin Johnson's around, great size and speed like that.

I would give up our 1st and 2nd this year and maybe even our 4th for Boldin...

    Thomas Jones/Leon
    Richardson
    Ferguson, Faneca, Mangold, Moore, Woody

Boldin, Cotchery, Stucky with Keller as our pass catching TE?

Look @ it this way...If either Kellen or Ratliff FAIL to win with an offense like that, well then we now know that its REALLY time to look for a franchise QB because that Offense has the potential to dominate

Your probably right. Like I said, I don't get exposed to many Card games, but from what I've seen of Boldin I feel as if he doesn't have the speed to stretch a D.

The other concern is that he's played along side of Fitz, who I would assume draws most of the double teams. If Boldin comes to us, he will most definitely get most of the attention, and I don't know how well he would handle that. I would have to assume that his numbers would slip, but its impossible to say.

As far as his toughness is concerned, there is no argument there. Bouncing back that quickly and playing with wires in his jaw or what not was down right superhuman. And also the class he showed in not speaking badly of E. Smith and simply saying, that hey, its football and this sh1t happens, speaks volumes about his character.

In no way do I think that bringing him over to the Jets would hurt us in any way, and it would most definitely make us better, I'm just concerned about the possibility of us just having two possession WRs.

If you are correct and he indeed possess the speed as well, then he is the total package I would love to see as our #1.

That's true... I see Braylon Edwards as one of these "Total package guys" if he can get his dropsies under control, so I still kinda hope we make a run at him, but I would certainly not be crushed if we got Boldin instead. I admit that I overexhagerrated the age issue, I have to remember that these guys are able to go till 35ish now a days :)

He ran a very slow 40 yard dash at the combine. That's the ONLY reason he fell. (Yet another example that illustrates how incredibly overrated both the 40 yard dash is, as well as, the combine itself as a whole) In the NFL, he as been nothing short of a game-breaking WR.

I would say that the price you speak off is too much. I don't even think the Cards would expect such a payment.

Thanks but no thanks. As reported everywhere, the draft is LOADED with good WRs.
I do like Boldin , but for some reason, my head says no.
Maybe hes just waiting to see where Smith plays

    A 1 and a 3 probably gets him.

That steep? I'd think a 1 and a 3 gets Cutler, franchise QB... I wouldn't give 1 and a 3 for any WR outside of Fitz. And I'd have to think about that one.

I wouldn't have to think about that one :) I'd run to the bank with that one.
